09 Watch Life 170 mounting

I am sure it has been asked but I couldn't find a thread on it. I will be using these 100% for park/urban, and got them so I don't destroy my 181 Pipe Cleaners from Urban, and so that I have a short park ski to use when I want it or don't want to use my PCs or LL2s. I would love to here from somebody that has played with the mount(especially on these short 170s) or at least how people like their current mount on them. Oh and these have a larger tip than tail(as in more rise, noticably farther into the ski). The "heaven" mark on them is roughly -1.75 of true(at least for both on my pair).

center? I've never skied these, but I would imagine that if you're using them only for park/urban then center would be good.

That was the original plan. I don't mount skis like Pipe Cleaners center(makes no sense on jumps and in pipe in my mind) but since these don't have a flex built around the labeled mount AT ALL, I figured center for rails and urban would be the most fun. What made me wonder what other people liked was that the tip is longer and higher than the tail(as in farther into the ski). I'll probably end up just going center or -1 anyways though.

I had them at 1 inch forward from dead center, which was SUPER fun on such a short length. Dead center felt pretty light but I really liked that too.

haha good to know. Surface honestly didn't build these at all around a set mount(think about how Chronics are, built around shit -6) so I don't think they will suck too much anywhere..I will do center or 1 back, to make up for the longer tip rise than tail(why did they do this..?)

dude, when i got my 180 watchlifes mounted the mounting dude kinda fucked them up.. he said that the core was soft, and that the screws would strip the wood and not stick.. so he had to "helicoil" them. So you might wanna ask who ever is mounting them to put heli coils in and pay the little extra if there is any.

other wise i wanted mine at "heaven" but the way he effed them up, he had to put them 1 back... which was still super dope.. i love those skis so much. also i have griffins which are super light

i mounted mine a little back from center not to much but just enough because to mount center and take away from the all mountain capability of this ski would killt hem they are such a great ski

I am most likely doing the mount myself(and already have beloved Tyrolias for them). Maby I will put in extra glue though..thanks. Hopefully that won't lead to a problem. And you mean 1 back of heaven? on 170s heaven is -1.75 of true.

Oh, and can anybody compare these to 08(the good blue) Dumonts flex wise?

Forgot to add-

how does the tail perform when mounted far up? It seems like the tip is super soft, and the tail is stiff(softer tip than PC, much stiffer tail. But in my mind a broken in PC is pretty soft). Are tail butters noticably easier when mounted back?

Make damn sure u put extra glue bro... i tore out of my watch lifes twice last season.. so if ur not going to heli coil then i would suggest alot of glue. haha
