09/10 Salomon Bindings and Boots

I hear there will be some big changes in Salmon's binding line. at least in the upper STH series. Any word?

Also any update for the Ghost boot or a new addition to their big mountain line?

a Salomon AT binding would be sweet! I've never understood why there are not any other alpine company making one after Marker introduced it 2 years ago...

What would they change? They should produce the metal S916 in north america again, perfect binding. STH16 is pretty good though.

No need for S916 when you have the STH16... (steel track housing) + lighter cause of the magnesium... STH16 has become the S916.

I've seen the 09 line up, it's incredible... Who thought they could step it up again.

Ghost has some friends next year. 2 other models - one being Shogun (100 flex) the other is softer and I can't remember the name. There's a chick version of the Ghost called the Vamp.

SPK's have a new cool soft toebox for anti toe bang. ProModels are the nicest boot's I've ever seen. Black and red and go perfect with the Dumont. Kaos remain black and white with new toe box and graphics. The Kreation is dope in cherry red.

Skis look crazy. Dumont, Suspect, Threats - women's Vamp. MaiTai's all look really cool and edgier graphics... All bright as hell.

The sickest skis I saw was the Shogun and the chicks Geisha - Bamboo core rockers 101 under foot!!!!!!!

Lord and Lady's have new updated graphics and with Edge Armor. The Lady is hot pink... pretty cool.

I'm impressed with what Salomon has done in the last couple of years. It's clear that the athletes have a big word in what's done there.

peace

they sth16 is a big steaming pile of crap compaired to the s916. if you honestly like the sth 16 more than the s916, you dont need a 9-16 din binding

ohh no those sound sick. bamboo core?
specs?

and i REALLY hope they come in a nice long length over 187 or so. the czar only came in 183 which was weaksauce.

S916's are the STH16 dude. He's right dude.

The steel track housing came from the S916 which is a race binding.

The diff btw the two is that the STH's are lighter in weight.

Shogun 101 under foot is the Abma pro model yes. It's avail in longer the 182's... And Czar will also be avail in longer lenghts.

The Shogun graphics are amazing... wood colored with kelly green. To get an idea of the wood look up: the sick stick from Salomon's snowboard program...

STH16's are S916 - same mold same construction just lighter cause of the Titanium...

AT binding not till '10 but they have something that will make us forget Marker's...

Not sure about more colors... I think so.

I forgot to mention that they also have plans to release AT boots!!! in the near future. Based on the Impact 10 and Impact 8 boots.

Great stuff coming down the pipe.

How do you think they achieved the lighter weight?
And I was hoping for a fatter ski than 101 for Abma's pro model.

i think its replacing the guns, so they couldn't go too huge or they'd have a gap in their lineup. apparently they've got a rocker though.
and i've never skied anything with a bamboo core, but im assuming it'll be light/poppy?

This is not true. There is no titanium. STH stands for STEEL TECH HOUSING

Have you ever owned a pair of 916? You would realize they weigh twice as much, due to the fact that every point that contacts the boot in metal. The heelcup is metal. The toewings are metal.

The only features that they share are the forward pressure system, and the metal pedestal that the driver toe sits on.

Why in the hell would Abma's pro model only be 101 under foot? I thought for sure it would be a bigger more backcountry freestyle oriented version of the czar, something to compete with hellbents, ep pros, bibbys, jjs etc. seems backwards to me, hopefully it's just a mistake.

So by '10 do you mean 10/11 for the AT bindings? or 09/10. :)????

I'd love to see their AT boots. I love the Tecinca Icon AT, but just doesn't fit my feet....
