08 surface skis

just wanted to add that the 2008 Butterlicious 181 cm is pretty much exactly the same ski as the 2007 Watch Life (same production, same flex, same shape, different graphic).

Also wanted to note that they both fall apart in exactly the same way (base delam underfoot).

I don't understand why both companies keep producing at the PALE factory in Austria. Those skis are not durable and it's a shame cuz they are damned good skis. But at $300 that's pretty sweet, even if they fall apart :) :)

I don't think it will replace it by any means.... seeing as like 99% of skiers, even gapers, know the brand name K2. .001% on the other hand has heard of Surface... But it's sick they're releasing a pricepoint ski.

dont underestimate the fact that the younger kids in the sport have this desire to only have "core" products. Surface is dope, nuff said

i have over a hundred hard days on my 181 watch lifes and not a single problem.. still ride like the first day!

i have over 40 days on the live lifes and same story...PERFECT!

seriously?

Thats pretty cool and all, but how will the pricepoint effect the ski?

IM not sayin no, cause I wanted to get some next year, but im not so sure now.

there are a handful of things wrong with your statement...

1. those two skis are completely different. different flex and shape.

2. surface has topsheet problems, not underfoot delam issues. and those topsheet problems have been resolved for next year.

3. the surface skis have been known to be extremely durable.

4. surface actually made and released skis this year...unlike ninthnard.

you are right by saying $300 is pretty sweet. but those skis are going to disassemble themselves while your skiing. they're quality.

anyway. thats my biased response. ocelot onslaught.

HEY I HAVE THEM THERE SKIS!

my watch lifes are sick. not gonna lie, the top sheet has chipped alot. but these skis are so gnarrrr that it doesnt even matter

Mike told me they were working on a big mountain ski in a 190. He said he wanted it out in Jan. Don't know what happened?

PALE-produced skis have been known to be not durable at all.

It's the best ski I've ever skied on, but it's pretty lame to claim they're as durable as a ski produced in a proper factory. There are way better options than PALE anyway.

More importantly, when are those new Watch Lifes hitting the stores?

i highly doubt the price will change the ski construction wise minus the more durable topsheet that is the only problem i have heard of.......

why do surface riders wear tight pants. so stupid. you are seriously showing everyone how skinny you are. did i mention it is ugly?

where are you from, stranger?

'cause where i'm from, skinny is a very hot and rare thing to be. if you're skinny, you'll want people to notice because you'll want people to see how hot you are. are you skinny?

i'd say you better lay off what some skinny people are wearing. it's their choice. if you think it's ugly looking, don't date them.

SURFACE has some of the most rediculous artists photographers and skiers working close at hand many not to be mentioned but surface is about to get out of hand

Surface is one of the best things thats happening to skiing right now. Fresh styles in times where everyone is starting to look the same. I hope they never change.

If they're really around $300 I'm definitely getting some. What does 'setback' mean on their info page?

haha whoops 10mm I mean, I got it right from surface.

"We are making our Watch Life about 10cm fatter though which will

be sick. Maybe next season we will do a 100mm underfooter!"

Live Life's a powder ski. Definatly not a big mountain ski.

BUt Two different flex's for teh Live Life, which would possibly become a big mountain one with the stiffer flex.

the live live is the stiffer charging ski i never found anything it couldnt handle! the livel ife 2 is going to be REALLY soft elizabeth style.... same shape will be super super fun!

Just FYI, for 2008 we are making the Watch Life's available for $299.95 - and rumors of topsheet chipping are true, we had some people complaining about it, therefore, to fix this problem completely we are making the Watch Life available with a super durable, full cap construction, thus fixing any topsheet issues some of you may have had.

Live Life will come available this season in 2 flex patterns. The Live Life2 will be flat camber and very, very soft for the ultimate fat "play" ski...the graphics on this model were done by TJ Schneider, if you don't know who he is, you should google him, he is an amazing snowboarder, artist and person.
