no, actually it doesnt have a 'hatchback.' it has a hatch, yes, but that does not make it a hatchback. its an suv and a pretty damn impractical one at that. i dont understand the current obsession with cramming stupidly large engines in even bigger cars that cant do anything well except go in a straight line and inflate the ego of those who drive them. i understand how some people may need the extra room that an suv provides, or need the power for towing heavy stuff, but why try and make a performance vehicle out of something that is inherently not going to handle well, no matter what you do to it? oh, and the 08 sti isnt out yet, so no, you havent seen it. the new wrx is however, and the power stayed the same from the factory, although its using the legacy gt engine now, which with an ecu reflash basically gives you about 25-30 more horsepower without even doing any engine work to it. they also decreased the weight by about 50 pounds for the sedan, and almost 200 for the hatch, which is pretty impressive in an era where every new rendition of a car gets bigger and heavier than its predecessor.
