08 buyers guide

Very well done, they set it up very nice, it easy to find shit and mad fun to look threw... i never really fallowed there saying on rating skis, but it still looks promising
 
theres already multiple thread on this, so lets keep this on rating the buyers guide and keep away from "i haven't gotten mine yet!!"

but i was very dissapointed this year, very little accesories were actually reviewed. only 1 or 2 goggles and gloves were reviewed, the rest just had price. i thought they were going to step up their game this year but i guessed wrong. then a lot of smaller companies that have a lot of buzz around them were ignored. i don't know if its due to the companies not sending them their products or freeskier simply ignoring them. but i would have really liked to see some smaller companies like ec headwear, moment skis, bluehouse. and i also disliked how they ignore certain skis in a companies line for no reason at all
 
i think it was alright. the reviews sucked for gloves and goggles, but i don't really need to know about those, so it didn't matter to me. they could have expanded on the ski reviews too. it wasn't as bad as some people say, but some things could have been expanded more.
 
i respect all that, i defentley see where your coming from, i think this year they tried to go in a different direction with the buyer guise, but im pretty sure youll see those smaller companies in there soon, high society was in there
 
even though i'm still kinda mad moment never sent me any stickers after promising them to me through multiple emails and correspondences
 
thats because there are just a lot of people who said that they were sick, but never bought the skis. there is a big difference of what they say and do. it is kind of tough to make a new ski company now a days. the only reason line is still around is because they had the patent on the twin tip, and were just about the only people doing it. to actually be successful now, you have to do something completely new, and have it be really good. moment isn't doing anything new, so i can see how they will be going out of business.
 
Buyers guide seems sweet for the 10 seconds I was given to shuffle through it. Buyers guides depress me though, so much sick gear, and I know I won't buy any of this years gear for financial reasons.
 
anyone know how the rossi ghettos were reviewed? or if they were at all? i havent gotten one yet :(

i really wouldn't trust this review though. it seems like every ski got 7 out of 10 or 8 out of 10.
 
i felt that they explained the way some skis were rated but others were left out like for example not changing a ski and keeping it the same a few skis were marked down for that but i don't understand why the thruster was scored so high because hasn't it been virtually unchanged for like 3 or more years? I felt they were way bias toward salomon but thats just me. I was way sad that the gloves, outer wear, back packs, and especially boots had no mention of their detail. But i did think that the little blurb about the process you should go through to be fitted properly for a ski boot. I doubt if anyone at my shop even knows how to do any of what was said except measure my foot.
 
My copy just showed up yesterday, and I haven't gotten a chance to actually read it yet, but thumbing through, it looks to be a very nice step in the right direction for Freeskier.

200 total pages? Freaking solid, even if half are ads, it's solid as hell.

From the quick glance, it made the Powder buyers guide look like a joke.
