08 armada AND volkl VS 09/10 versions

asked this about the pipe cleaners but decided a new thread would be best since ive changed the criteria.i found 08 walls in my size for way cheap but i remember hearing pullout issues with them (i had this problem with my 09 ar6s)so i was wondering if i was correct with that statement or not and if anything has changed in the newer models.ALSOi found the 08 pipe cleaners in my size for way cheap. so has anything changed since 08 in the pipe cleaner category??thanks!
 
I beat the CRAP out of my 08 walls, I literally got to a point were I didn't care about them what so ever (I already had a back-up ski and antidogmas on the way), I skied them on ANYTHING - snow, slush, rails, boxes, mud, rocks, backyard jibs, the last day of the season at my home mountain there was pretty much a lake at the bottom cause was 50 degrees out and I skied them through that and then took them to mount snow the next week and pretty much did the same thing. I skied them on my summer set up, I pretty much tried to kill them. The result...barely a scratch, I'm not joking, minor base damage (not even worth ptexing) and minor top sheet chipping. No edge damage what so ever, no sidewall damage. I swear that is the most bombproof ski I've ever skied, if you don't mind a stiffer ski I'd total get them and not worry about destroying them, plus Volkl's warrenty is normally pretty legit (I say normally cause I saw one kid on here had a bad experience but it looks like poor communication between the shop, rep, and delivery department).
 
Just for reference here are the pictures of the base of my ski, I sold them so I had already taken these pictures. Also, I did detune my edges with a file and gummy stone (if you don't know, it's a stone that people use to sharpen and dull edges), so that might have made a difference.

word that was a quality post for sure haha thanks man!other then the pullout issue that has been fixed that how my ar6s are but i dont have nearly the cash flow i did last season so i cant buy new ones haha i got to find old shit in my size so yeah.more info on model changes and new on pipe cleaners??
 
I think I remember hearing something about the flex point being moved on the PC for this year - I think they made it slightly stiffer in the nose, but I'm not 100% on that, other than that its pretty much the same as 09. Sorry I don't have 100% facts right now.
 
I know they beefed them up considerably from '07 to '08 ... I suspect if they were changes if any at all they were minor from '08 -> '09 -> '10

I love my '08 pipe cleaners because they kill it everywhere and can ride em hard n dirty but yea i was waxin em twice a week minimum!
 
fwiw my volkl dogens like 3 or 4 years ago fell apart in 2 months. if i remember correctly it was their price point ski so that may be why. not sure how volkl's quality is now though.
