^like i know some people have some of it already so theres gotta be pics somewhere, im pretty sure there were some last season by now

oakley stuff next year is super weak. ive never seen a company take such a huge step back with their whole line. couple wood prints, a few far out prints, one sick skull print, and a big cut in colors. if theres enough demand, ill post the catalog

Quiksilver Launches Eco-Friendly Winter Outerwear Line

Sustainable Outerwear Features World's Most Advanced Earth-Friendly Textiles

Signature Series Designed By Travis Rice

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA—Because

it needs to stand up to the elements, winter outerwear has historically

been among the least eco-friendly apparel on the market. The challenge

of combining waterproof, breathable and comfortable technology has

relied on a great deal of innovation that has, more often than not,

been developed with performance, not the environment, in mind.

No

more. On January 29th, Quiksilver will unveil an all-new line of

eco-friendly winter outerwear. Recycled PET water and soda bottles

combine with sustainable Hemp fabric and non-toxic natural dyes (free

of heavy metals that contaminate waterways) to create outerwear that is

highly functional, environmentally conscious and supremely stylish.

Designed with the world's most advanced earth-friendly textiles and

production processes, the collection represents an entirely new

orientation for designing, fabricating, wearing and recycling winter

outerwear.

The

line will be previewed simultaneously at SIA '08 and at the inaugural

Quiksilver Natural Selection at Jackson Hole. Quiksilver team rider

Travis Rice will be on hand in Jackson to debut his portion of the

line, the Travis Rice Signature Series.

"As a company of

boardriders, we've always challenged the power and grace of mother

nature in a way that is perfectly in tune with the environment," said

Dave Rosenberger, VP Sales Quiksilver Wintersports. "This new outwear

line reflects this ideal, because it meets the essential performance

requirements of riders, while introducing a new, earth-friendly

approach to winter apparel."

A brand that is innately tied to

the mountains and the ocean, Quiksilver has always been committed to

the fundamental philosophy behind the organic movement. This new line

represents a progression in the company's environmentally-friendly

commitment to a clean, healthy and sustainable approach to both

business and recreational practices that is at the core of its

identity, and reflected in its people, events and Foundation.

Quiksilver's 2008/2009 Eco-Friendly Outerwear Collection: Nanosphere Technology, Biodegradable and Exclusive Materials

The

08/09 eco-friendly outerwear collection consists of three jackets and

two pants, as well as new Signature outerwear pieces designed in

collaboration with Quiksilver team rider Travis Rice. With his passion

for the environment, Travis also chose for his Signature jacket and

pants to be made with Quiksilver's new groundbreaking eco-friendly

materials.

Eco-friendly fabric highlights and how they benefit the environment:

Biodegradable TPU Laminate: This waterproof, breathable, solvent-free

laminate is the first of its kind. Low in toxicity and biodegradable,

this laminate will break down completely in only four years. Others can

last hundreds of years, turning your old jacket and pants from a

fashion faux pas to full-on biohazard.

• Nanosphere Finish:

By Schoeller Switzerland. Created by spacesuit manufacturer Schoeller

Switzerland, this new technology provides a natural self-cleaning

effect and an extremely high level of water and dirt repellence. It is

also highly abrasion resistant. It is based on Nanotechnology which

makes it possible to copy nature and use the non-stick and

self-cleaning process of certain plants and insects onto textiles. In

order to do this the surface of the textile is altered by using the

nanoparticles.

• Organic Cotton: Organic cotton is renewable,

non-toxic and biodegradable. The production of commercial cotton is

destroying farmland and is poisoning the waterways around the world. It

takes approximately two pounds of pesticides to grow one regular,

non-organic cotton T-shirt.

• Hemp: Hemp is an economical,

renewable resource. It is fast growing, taking about 100-120 days from

planting until it is ready. Hemp, as a rule, does not need pesticides,

and requires far less water than cotton during growing.

Non-Toxic Dyes: Most common dyes used in our fabrics and textiles/

furniture/ carpet.etc, are filled with heavy metals that are very

harmful to animals, our habitat and humans.

• Recycled

PETs-Recylced Polyester and Soda Bottles: With eight of ten plastic

bottles ending up in landfills, finding economically viable uses for

recycling is still a mandate for environmentally sound businesses. All

polyester in the new Quiksilver eco-friendly line is created from PET

(recycled polyester made from plastic soda bottles.) It reduces the use

of other raw materials like petroleum, and cuts down on the process of

refining crude oil into synthetic polyesters and nylons, which creates

some of the worst types of pollution.

The 2008/09 New Eco-friendly Outerwear Line

Eco Circle Jacket and Pant

Made from 100% recycled polyester from the interior mesh lined shell to

the exterior fabric, this jacket and pant provide total earth-friendly

protection down to the solvent free TPU laminate and 100% recycled

material zippers. Multiple pockets provide great storage for goggles,

ipods or extra accessories. The jacket's three-way adjustable hood is

detachable, and the overall styling is ergonomic. Both jacket and pant

are specifically engineered to keep you warmer, dryer and more

comfortable by embracing all natural materials combined with 40gms of

poly fill for maximum warmth to withstand the coldest shred conditions.

Rusty Cage Jacket and Pantera Pant

Eco-aggressive and eco-stylish, the Rusty Cage Jacket and Pantera Pant

combine 70% recycled PET with 30% hemp for a military-inspired style

and fit that make a bold statement. Perfect for foul weather or

bluebird skies, both pieces incorporate a Schoeller Nanotech® water and

stain resistant yarn treatment, and the jacket features a fixed 3-way

adjustable hood. The printed shell lining is 100% recycled polyester,

and all zippers are made of recycled materials. The Rusty Cage paired

with the Pantera Pant are both versatile, providing all-natural peak

performance and style for après antics.

Sweet Leaf Jacket

Simple styling, a slimmer silhouette and technical ergonomic design

make the Sweet Leaf Jacket equipped for an all-day assault on the hill.

This jacket is equally eco-friendly with 70% recycled PET and 35% hemp

as well as solvent free TPU laminate. The printed taffeta lined shell

is 100% recycled polyester, and all zippers are made from recycled

materials. The Schoeller Nanotech® water and stain resistant yarn

treatment and fixed 3-way adjustable hood keep you dry even riding in

whiteout conditions. Go big or keep a low profile with the Sweet Leaf's

understated style and top notch technical benefits.

Travis Rice Signature Jacket and Pant

Designed by TRice himself, this signature jacket taps both Travis's

artistic and environmental sides. Almost all eco-friendly, the jacket

and pant are 55% hemp and 45% recycled PET. The signature satin lining

provides total comfort while water tight pockets and exterior

waterproofing keep you dry. Inspired by King Tut times, TRice added a

Signature art embroidery that stands for liguid, vapor and ice. In

addition, horizontal stripping across the front adds Pharaohesque

style. TRice's unique design paired with eco-performance is all the

mountain rage next winter.
