08-09 adjustable camber rossignol

Its not in the line for next year. There were pictures of it on here somewhere. It was a phantom(bandit) ski with a cable from the toe to the tip that was tensioned and thus flexed the ski into reverse camber. Its probably a prototype for a ski for the following season.

yeah, probably not in the line this year. also i think it will be kind of like the atomic variable carve, or w/e its called. both of these skis will cost like 1200 bucks and neither of these systems will work very well, just selling tools in my opinion.

Imagine going skiing in some nice pow and then POP

Normal camber. It seems like it would just mess up the ski being flexed into reverse camber for long periods of time.

that would be sick, but you would have to pop it back down after every run to keep it from becoming permanent

im gonna go ahead and claim that my dad made one of the first shaped skis in the late 80s. S Ski. look it up. my pop is ivan petkov.

This pic must be from ISPO, or SWISSPO. It is not the finished product. This is something Rossi has been looking at for a while. Treadway was skiing this year on different versions of it. Try rockering your BSquad a little. They rip.

i think the technology would be sick if you could perfect it. imagine like a park ski like say the invader or anthem, that on pow days you could pop up the tip and tail and it would be like a skinnier ep pro. or a ski like the hellbent that could be normal camber and rip everywhere and then pop up the tips/tails and it would be like it is now. it could possibly make a true one ski quiver easier because you caould adjust the ski for the conditions. i think it would be sick if it could be perfected.

i don't care if invaders could be rockered, they would still suck in pow. Anthems would be fine.

I knwo its not a freestyle ski, so you won't be crossing them much, but is anyone else sketched out about catching your skis on that?

Crossing skis doesn't bother me at all. What I am intrigued by is how shitty a ski would ride if you preloaded it, and what happens when the ski rebounds into something that limits its flex.

I was just thinking the exact same thing. I think it would feel kind of dead

as for the crossing, I know it never happens when you are charging, but if you are skiing exposure, you only need shit to go wrong once. Billy goating aswell. Its not liek you would need a serious ski crossing. kinda freaky

That is precisely what I want atop my skis, cables and ratchets and shit. Cool. Haha. Just make a rocker ski, they work amazing.

Wait until you see it. It's not heavy, the finished product protects the cable, and it make the 195 Phantom 108 ski like a 165. It fucking rips.

They work great. The team has been on them all year. It basically gives a B-Squad 30cm of rocker. They might be seen in the States this coming season, but who knows really.

haha, the funny thing is they are making a rockered ski, i guess they just wanted something more inspector gadget, and less fat albert.

the rossi dual camber and the atomic vari-flex and vari-carve are two very different systems, the idea behind the rossi's is to make a ski that has the posiblity of having a rocker some of the time, that way the ski can be used in more conditions. The idea behind the atomic veri systems is to change the way the ski flex's and performs is high end skiing. I personally didnt like the the atomic system at all but who knows it might take off.

If this is true then I really am intrigued. How is the cable protected exactly? Under the topsheet? Groove in the topsheet? Problems with ice in the system?

Whatever happens, I'm sure rossi wouldn't release it unless they were sure it will work well so I for one am staying tuned. A rockerable squad sounds like the perfect ski almost.

Ok I'm not even joking I will trade a pair of slightly used 89 squads (no coreshots) and a pair of next years 194 dynastar xxls and some good condition 171 sally 1080s for a pair of 195 Phantom 108 DCs.

I'm not joking. You get me one pair. You get 3 pairs. I could potentially add some cash too.

dude, fair enough to be stoked about this ski but don't you think offering squads, 09 xxls and a park ski in exchange for an as-yet unproven concept ski is a little OTT? i mean don't get me wrong, if rossi have indeed got it right it would be epic but we know nothing yet about durability and even performance reports are pretty hard to come by...

just my £0.02...
