07 seth vs 07 prophet 90

For the past 2 seasons i have been skiing on a pair of motherships (the grey ones without the full height tail) and they have served me great. I just bought and mounted a pair of fritschi freerides on them, and this setup will now be BC only, so i am looking for a new pair of skis to ski inbounds and some slackcountry with.

Basically, i want to ski everything on the mtn, pow, alpine, trees, park, cliffs, booters, etc... I want a ski fat enough for the deep stuff, but good in the park as well. I weigh around 195 and 6'5"

Basically i am mainly considering two skis, the 189cm seth [130/98/118], and the 186cm prophet 90[125-90-113] (also considering prophet 100 but everywhere is sold out)

I can get both of these skis for around the same price, and i was just wondering what people opinions were on the two. (or something else that can be had for around the same price ~450US or 600CAD)

thanks

if you can't get the prophet one hundie i would say don't bother with a prophet. the seth is sick as hell. my brother has the 07 in a 189 and it rips. very skiable all around.

i think you can get prophet hundo's on d-structure, but that might only be in 179, i know you can get 130's too. 300 bucks, its a steal. completely irrelevant, so, im sorry.

umm if these are basically a west all mountain ski, i'd consider the fischer atua (186, 96 underfoot) and the big trouble (186, 92 underfoot). if you rember the original pistols were only 90 underfoot and seth was slaying the AK with those, so superfat is not as needed as people think. both of these will be better in park, and the stiffer flex than seths will help bust through crud and both will still rip the pow.

the lines have stiffer tip to tail flex pattern

if u like the demensions of the line get the chronic blend

i've got the 06 they are the shit

but i hear the seths are the bomb digity so

its a toss up

There both killer skis but I think the Seth is a bit more versitile then the prophet...but the prophet is much stiffer than the seth too, ur call

thats like steep and deep only..... i havent ever seen anybody just skiing around on thoose. but i geuss it could be a possiblity...

well, i've heard not-so-good things about both skis

but i would go with the seth's out of the 2

have u considered rossi BC

or armada ANT?

or 4frnt

or dynastar

etc.

don't get the ant for an all around ski. i have a pair, but i only ride them a small percentage of the time. even while i was in utah for a month, i only used them about half the time. they're a handful to ski every day. the seth is much more forgiving. check out the 185 scratch bc wrs and the 4frnt msp in a 187. actually, for what you've described, i'd say the 187 msp is your best option.

I'd go with the Seths. I'm 6'4" 195 lbs, and the 186 prophet 90s are too short for me, unless they're mounted waaay back. And the Seths are a more versatile ski, especially in the BC. I wish Seths came in a 199 length, but between the two, I'd go with Seths.

are you sure the pistols were 90 underfoot cuz my friend has them and the dimensions are written on them and it says 105 waist and they are really fat so unless he has some special shit i think youre wrong on that

I have the Prophet 90s

there great for everything, even deep pow. the titanium doesnt make them jatter on stuff, and they havent broken

My dad has this years 189 seths

there not that bigger, but he says they ride like butter, i personally havent ridden them yet. but my dad knows lots about skis.

I dont know how the 186 90s are( i have 179) but for your ski it depends on your weight and control if you choose a a longer ski

so if your comfortable with a long board

go with the seths

oh the 04/05 is 95 at the waist

i didn't know if he meant the ORIGINAL seth pistols

which were 03/04 and i cant find the dimensions
