07 scratch WRS

if it stands for weight reduction system, then i'll bet there's gonna be mostly foam in the core. sounds like a lower end ski to me, but then again, this is the first i've heard about it.

well I know this is illogical, but just from looking at the graphics, it looks like it's gona be the high end ski. in all the pics, these skis are placed on the left and it looks like they place them from left to right according to price. if it's foam, that's gonna suck.

i don't know dont take my word for it because i saw nowheres on the ski that it said wrs but i was skiing at jay this weekend and i saw a guy with next years bc's and he was telling us how they're supposed to be 30 percent lighter then this years model

I surf, and from what i know about surfing, foam allthough light, is not the most durable thing. Now im not sure what kind of other materials wil be in the ski, but im not to sure about how strong this ski will really be. Im sure no would could be able to break it unintentionaly, but itd bet its a fairly easy ski to strain.

ya that badge was on it! ha yay im so pleased with myself that i remembered that badge! yeah so i guess ive seen these wrs's on some bc's the guy told me that there 30 percent lighter then last years he kept emphasizing that

Ive been riding the new bc for a week or so and i love them. thay are alot lighter than last years and have a little more flex in the tip and tail.

The cores on the BC WRS, and the FS WRS are exactly the same so they are going to be on of the better park skis for next season.

The new core in the Scratch BC and FS has gained the WRS, or weight reduction system. Last year, (05-06) the skis were a little on the heavy side, so they came up with a new fiberglass that is about 20% lighter.

Whats that mean???? Well, the BC is 600 grams lighter (for those of us who can figure out conversions, that about 20-21 ounces, or about a Budwiser can and a redbull combined) and the fs is about 400 grams lighter, making them a shet load easier to spin on. The fiberglass weive is tigher under the foot for its solid feel, and looser towards the tip and tail, for a rounder flex.

hope that helps...

Rossi replied with this (Clearly, it was some intern who wrote it):

We have not been cliniced on next years skis, because technically they do not go on the market until next fall.

Here is what our new catalog has to say about the WRS concept:

The catalos sais that the new WRS concept will help go bigger int eh pipe and park, then it says it stands for Weight Reduction System. That the new cored design has strands of fiber in the core and fiberglass are aligned with the sidecut shape so the core has an iincreased concentration of fibers unter the foot and less in the tip and tail.

This new oprientaton optimizes flex and weduces weight by 400G on the Freestyle and 600 G on th BC.

This lighter weight they beileve will give the siers easier balance and rotation with higher boosts, while still maintaining stability on the landings, and more snap on take-offs.

on all of their new skis they have shaved out a lot of wieght. Ive skied next years FSs and BCs and they all had this technology, they all were really light, even with demo bindings.
