Just got it, i now have a boner

New skis section seriously lacking new models tho, anyone else agree. The Freeskier buyers guide will have 140 models, this dosen't have half that. And it only has 2 skis from 9th, no t-hall, no scratch bc. the more i look at it the more it sucks. When will the new freeskier be out?

Although the ARG is NASTY

it has 119 skis with photos but if you read through it you will find it actualy has a few more for example the Scratch BC is in the review of the Sick bird since they are from the same mold. And the Kehua is in the same review as the Atua because it is essencialy a smaller version of the same ski.

Can i also add that salomon officially sucks ass. Ugliest skis ever with the same old crappy construction and their new toepiece with the same plastic heel housing blows. I will never buy anything Salomon exept for a 916

i thought it was a pretty good gear guide. It was lacking in some areas like carving skis but i get skiing and ski canada for that

i thought it was an awesome gear review.. you have to keep in mind its not a park and pipe magazine.. so of course they are gonna have a wider variety of skis... especially powder and big mountain

the salomon add on the 3rd page of that mag is the lamest thing ive ever fucking seen. "so core there made of liquid hot magma"

It's good. Good mag. Good shit on Coombs. RIP.

But yah, I'll enjoy having the one two punch of Freeskier/Powder. Both have their benefits....Freeskier with almost everytwin from every company producing twins, and Powder having independent's and not so twin-orientated pow boards.

Agreed, you always hit the nail on the head. Both buyer's guides have their place.

But I was a bit surprised that Powder didn't include more independents. They left a lot of small companies out, IMO, and decided to send people to their website for more comprehensive reviews. That seemed strange to me. They claimed to have the most comprehensive review, but left out so much.

And I have to say, what the F**K was up with all the illustrations in Powder? Ugly. Like something Skiing magazine would do.

Speaking of Skiing, Their guide does not have many twins but they do the best job of reviewing the ones they do. Probably the most indepth rewiew of each ski. and neather powder or freeskier will have as big or as good a boot review.

they used to have a better more in depth one a few years ago but they've shortened up the reviews and it's not quite as good but still good

Dude Salomon bindings do suck... well just the heel piece. Everything else is solid, but I break those damned heel pieces more than anything else. While getting new ones at a ski shop they said the same thing that they whole construction is friggen awsome, it's just the weak heel piece.

I knoew it was out but i done know where to get it.....I HOPE WALL-MART has it !..i can aford a subscription

i just got my freeskier yesterday and its very sick i wish there was little more jacket reviews in it though and they seem to like downplay snopants i think they sould maybe have a whole review section for those

How is that bandwagon? I have worked at a shop for 6 years and seen 2-3 broken salomon heelpieces every week. I've also seen more delamming guns, PR's, and foils than any other ski. No sidewalls = crap, Cap = crap, enough said.

YEah! thats nice but you probably sold more salamon than any ohter skis. If you soldother skis as much you would see the same thing. Salomon makes a solid ski.

nope, he is just speaking the truth. I blow up the heel piece on every salomon binding of mine after 10 landings (except my 914 and 916 labs).
