which of these skis are superior in durability. i hear the 1080s can lose their pop after a couple of seasons. im leaning towards the rossis. any arguments?

i have the fs wrs... havn't ridden foils, but the fs have had mad pop from day one, and after some huge disasters and crashes there's no sign of edge cracking. pretty legit skis.

well ive never had any eperience with those skis but heres what i know. salomons use foam cores which loose their pop way faster then a wood core scratch. and scratchs have side walls which chip way more then the cap constuction or w/e you call it on salomons. so i guess it depends on what kind of durability your looking for. since chips dont realy matter that much performance wise id go for the scratchs.

both are GOOD skis. myself, id get the salomons, just cause i dont like the dimensions of the scratch. but if your looking for durability over a few seasons, scratch. the foil will not last as long. id say better ski from day one, not at the end of the season.

Scratches for sure, and as for the sidewalls chipping, rossi came up with the minicap where they actually cap the topsheet to the sidewall to add durability, i have the bc wrs of this year and i dont have a chip on them. It really works well. The rossi's will last a lot longer, better bases too. Foam cores melt after a couple hard seasons.
