07/08 Ski Graphics are terrible!

By no means do the graphics on skis determine the overall performance on the ski, obviously. But, this years skis graphics are probably the worst in a a few years. First, what the hell was Line thinking with their graphics this year?

The chronics with the huge ass bird = gay, totally unoriginal. The anthems with the wolf = looks the shirts that trailor trash dudes wear, everytime i look at these skis, I think of dudes with mullets with that print on their shirt. The blends are disgusting too.

4Frnt: Wowwwwwww, how original lets put a hugeeee mountain on our MSP's, I think looking around us and seeing the mountains is good enough, we don't need it on our skis. Stl's have cheesy ass graffiti, looks like my little sister drew it.

You guys get my point, honestly, look through all the skis this year, I feel like everyone just gave up on creativity this year. In no way do these graphics take away from how awesome some of these skis ride, I know this. But I thought graphics this year would be the dopest they have ever been, considering free skiing is at an all time high right now.

I have been thinking about posting this for a while because I never post rants, and no, I cannot draw for shit so I have no say when it comes to my own design. I am just really surprised how bad they are this year.

At least the volkl walls have a neon green sidewall... probably the only good thing this year...

 
i kindve agree, except i do like the pipe cleaner this year, and the line francis bacons are really cool looking

also agree on the walls, their bases look suuuuuuuuper cool
 
Well this is an opinion... And I'm pretty sure that the anthems are desinged to remember you those rednecks with wolves on their T-shirts, as a joke. I like the salomon thrusters, they are sick this year, and the rossignol are really original too. This is just a question of opinion
 
i think that every ski company now should take art from NS. 

i do like the anthems though...remind me of home hahahahahaha.
 
I think that the K2 lineup does have some sweet graphics. the SETH's, PE's, Nancy's...etc. There all sick.
 
yo I don't know if you've seen the MSPs up close, but all 8 skis (2 skis in each size) make one big mural. I think that's pretty cool. They are really detailed too, look at them up close some time, and you'll see a lot more stuff on them.

 
its obviously just my opinion, and obviously open to anyone who wants to rip me a new asshole.... go for it, just curious to what everyone thinks.

 
The way I see it is that you still have the right to your own opinion (I dunno for how long though..LOL)

 
k2's have the best graphic lineup this year.

Armada's are decent... the ar6's were def made from either alot of shrooms, or an inside joke

Yeah, it is cool that the MSPS all form one huge mural of mountains, but you don't ride 8 pairs of skis at once.
 
Yup, abe slayed those graphics and most others. Only 4frnt ski graphic that i dont really like this year is the STL's. I think overall this years graphics are prettty cool, its all opinion
 
you're only gonna ski one pair at a time though so having them all make a big mountain range is kind of pointless since no one's going to see them like that in real life.

and i agree, a lot of ski graphics aren't that great like for example the ar6s
 
I'd have to agree with you, but don't forget you can buy older model skis with sicker graphics if you like. most of the time not too much changes from year to year except for the price. but yea I was dissapointed this year as well.
 
I think some of been shitty this year, but the msp's have some of my favorite graphics iv ever seen on skis, i just smile everytime i look at my 181s
 
Have you seen the Hellbents or the SETH's? They are SICK! I agree, not all the K2's are sick but they do have a very good lineup for the factory team skis.
 
I love the new HEAD JO pros. Those two twins are HOT. Its sweet, you ski regular and you see a hot chick, now you ski switch and you see another hot chick. = priceless!
 
i used to be all about the gnar-kill k2 graphics but now i think the puking seth and the bloodfeast hellbents are a little overboard. i like something more subtle and artistic like the pollard skis from line, the msp, vct, and ehp from 4frnt as well as pretty much anything from surface. maybe it's just me not being a teenager anymore, i don't know. i'm just over the murder sticks.
 
Pollard's three skis are all dope as hell. the Seth and the HB are pretty rad. you can't argue with the Jon pro. other than the Steeze looking completely gay, the Rossi line ain't too bad. Armada's ARV, JPvJ, and Pipe Cleaners are sick. the Dumont graphic is pretty cool, but i kinda wonder why they ran the same graphic two years in a row. i'm also diggin the Dynastar TMs, BTs, and both the Limiteds.

there's nothing mind-blowing this year, but i wouldn't say they're all terrible.
 
You should peep Amplid's graphics...

Cholesterones have a beer on the ski
Teddy's have silk screened bullets in the topsheet over the already sick taxi inspired graphic
Antidogma's are simple and refined
Township's have a cool graffiti based graphic

thanks to the CreateIt program. More companies need to reach out like that and find new young design talent and fire the people who are fucking up.
 
I think that a lot of the ski graphics are pretty sick this year, sure the chronics and anthems could be a lot sweeter, but its better than a blank ski. and i personally think the hellbents have a sick graphic, i love my pair. and this years sir francis bacons are dope.
 
I dunno. 4Frnt might not look good...

I like Salomon's skis this year (Guns, Dumonts, Foils, SPK, and Rocker), Moments are all looking sick, Volkls are really sick looking too. Armada's are good looking, like the Pipe Cleaners and El Ray, and personally, I like the Rossignol graphics this year on their Ghetto's and Brigades... Rossi Steeze looks okay to me, but that's debatable. K2 have the same sorta thing going on. Head's graphics are looking pretty good (JO Pros in particular), and the new TM's look pretty sick in person.

I do agree that there are some pretty bad looking graphics out there this year too, but it's always going to happen. I guess this is one of the years where it's worse
 
it's just as good or bad as any other year.  besides armada... their stuff is way stupid for the most part this year.Abe slayed the MSPs. don't doubt it.
 
I personally think this is one of the best years for ski graphics. I don't like the STLs, the regular TMs (not the retro editions), nor the hearts on the Steezes, the rest of the ski is ok.

I think Abe killed it with the MSPs, same with Schmies and pretty much the entire k2 line. Pollards's Prophets and EP Pros are sick, and Moment's M1 and Comi-Kazi are some of my most favourite ever. All in all, quite a good year.
 
I think the chronics are sick, and th wrestlers on the invader are original.... armada i think has sick graphics with all the cool colors and solomon has cool graphics except for the foils. Personally i think its kinda 50/50 some are good, some are bad
 
the 4frnt VCTs are really good. JP Julien are sweet compared to last year's, most of line's stuff is awesome looking with exception to the chronic blends.

funny, I think those 3 brands stand out for grpahics this year, maybe not the ar6 for armada but the pipe cleaner looks sweet
 
my favorites for this year are the invaders and ar6s, EP pro but i like last years bacons more

i think k2 was all around good too,

i hated the anthem and chronic but some ppl dig em so w.e

 
i agree completely. after looking through the buyers guide again, i think my favorites are:

line - ep, elizabeth, sfb

surface - live life and watch life

 
I disagree, Salomon, Rossi, and Atomic have some bitchin graphics this year, Armada is cool as usual, except with the AR6 which is a little weird, but other than that there have been some kickass graphics.
 
the line prophet's have the best ski graphic ever in my opinion. but yes some suck, and there will always be a few that suck. Overall though this year is pretty damn good.
 
wow you named four pairs of skis with lame graphics. have you looked at the bacons and the elizabeths? super cool designs. rossy's are pretty intense as well.
 
I can't believe you honestly thought Line was serious with the wolf graphic on the anthems. Look at the shirt for the anthems....its a joke dude. And a hilarious one at that.
 
myself, still a teenager, have never been into the blood and death filled designs, i like a basic design with some small details that take talent and originality to create, pollards art is what im trying to describe somewhat
