06 public enemy's- p-tex problem

is it bad if the top sheet on my public enemy's is coming off? bc i think i can see the core on them and i dont think its really good. im also wondering if this will go under a warrenty item.yeah its pretty bad
 
unless the topsheet is actually flipping up from the core, just epoxy the little chips, shit happens man
 
yeah theyre getting rid of it so its softer and better. however, if people still lke the feel and stiffness of the earlier PE, thats why they made the silencer, which is jsut like the older versions, but better.
 
id like to hear this confirmed because i read in another thread that next year's PEs are the same as this years. Ptex and all.
 
^i saw freeskier testing them at vail and the new top sheet is a graphic under a clear layer of p-tex
 
ya i'm pretty sure its still P-tex. and the silencer is softer than the PE. its made with cap construction. its more lively and poppier than the PE. but not stiffer. The PE is exactly the same as the 05/06 model except for the graffic.

mine are worse. have the exact same skis. it wont affect your riding so dont even worry about it.
 
how the hell did that happen. it looks like you did that because its so clean around the building part of the graffic.
 
Did you peel it off? I have never seen anything like that. I have seen it get a bit chewed up if kids are slamming thier skis together, but that is fucked. Take it to a store that sells K2 and send 'em in for warrenty since it is summertime.
 
there was a big air pocket in the black area and it started to come off when i was hittn the jumps

it like wasnt even attatched and its not connected to the red aread so that didnt come with it
 
but that actually looks sick lik that and s_k_i_e_r your r nothign like that your just ahve chips on the side of your skis from wear n tear
 
yeah there was an air pocket....and since the black is not connected to the red it didnt effect it when it came off.......so i didnt peel if all off...
 
holy shit i had no idea your skis were that fucked. i heard they were falling apart, but that's insane!!! next year's publics have a different topsheet, so that problem should be remedied.
 
wellll they may still be ptex... but it's one piece rather than die cut pieces. so it won't come off like that. did you get those from the ski shop? if so, bring them in and we'll take care of the warranty business for you.
 
ok heres the info i got from a rep. apparently they are keeping the ptex for the 07 line up but he sayed theyre doing something to fix the peeling problem, it wasnt a big issues but a issue non the less. the silencers are the lowest end ski that k2 makes for the factory team, they are like the old pe's but not as stiff. i hope i cleared up a few things
 
if you have the reciet for them just take them to any shop that sells K2. I bought gotamas offline and broke them. Just needed proof I bought them new and the shop handled the rest.
