06 Bandit B2's

Im looking at picking up some all mountain skis for this season as the Trouble Makers just dont cut it on groomed piste. Anyone here tried the B2's? They sound like exactly what I want but I wouldnt mind hearing 1st hand from a non-salesman.

Oh yeah, and before you start blabbing on "why would you not get twin tips?" "why would you ski boring old groomed trails?" I am doing my instructors course this winter so have to ski these trails, and Twinnies can apparently be a big no-no to some instructors....

Thats bull man, i know heaps of people that have done instucters on twinnies... And the twin tips are getting so good now that they are just as good for all-mountain skiing and groomed snow as any other non twin tip ski.....

So in conclusion, you should get the Armada ARV's, super sick ski that is for all mountain aswell as park and backcountry.... Its the way to go.

yeah i did my instructors course and nzsia exam on a pair of seth pistols with railed edges bro still passed no one said anything what course are you doin

B2's are aight. but if your after a stiffer twin. that also does pow pow. then i'd suggest having a look at

Volkl Karma's

Nordica Beasts

ARV's

PE's do real well for themselves on groomed trails. kinda on the flexi side though

They seem to be good stepping stone sorta flexed skis.

I wanna demo them b4 i commit to anything so May suss out some ARV's at the same time. I dont intend on using them in the park, will drag my Trouble Makers up the hill for that. The B2's actually have a tail you could quite easily ski fakie with....

BNZ whats your name. You will be able to demo the ARV from Ohakune down to Wanaka on the mountain, so no probs to get hold of a pair. Also the Snow Centre Store(snowplanet) have some demos at the moment so go and have a chat to them if your up their.

Cheers woolfy, I would prefer not to demo skis at snow planet due to the size of the place (or lack there of - sorry gromi). Will try and demo some skis as soon as the season opens at turoa. I really do want some quite agressive carving all mountain skis. Are ARX's really going to be best thing for me?

The ARVs are probably the best all mountain ski that you can get, it rips up the mountain hard. And it has twin tip, which gives you mant options for doing new stuff.

Well i would obviously prefer to stay twin. I will look into the ARV's. Anyone else got some reccomendations? I would post in the general website forum but NZ snow - particularly nth island is nothing like the rest of the world so we have dif ski requirements.

^definately looking into the seth vicious. Looks like a great ski for NZ terrain. The seth pistols had a pretty soft tail which wasnt really ideal for NZ, but now they made a ski thats sick for NZ!

actually the Head Madtrix Mojos would be dope for what your looking for.

stiff and wide underfoot and carves like a carving ski.

check them out. 05 06 model looks mint imo.

i would stand by what jase says a knows a lot 4 a wee fulla keep you options open with the mojos and seth vicious seth pistol only too soft if your landing backseat of decent cliffs 30ft up

This is what I would suggest. Demo the following skis before you make up your mind, u dont buy a car without test driving so dont do it with skis.

Try the following

Head Mojo - 90mm waist

Viscous - 98mm waist

ARV - 90mm - 92mm(175cm & 185cm)

Just dont demo too many otherwise you will get confused.

nah the mojos aren't too fat at all. perfect for anything, and happen to be fat enough for pow.

and for groomers as long as they are stiff and have a nice cut, then the fatness doesn't make too much diff.

"green jacket gold jacket, who gives a shit?"

Yeah the Mad Trix do get some pretty good reviews. Shame no one is importing Lines.... yet.

Im hoping to be in Canada at the end of the year, so im thinking maybe some B2's or Zenith's or similar, and hold onto my Trouble Makers, and then pick up some new park/all mountain skis in canada at the end of the year? I will try and demo as many as poss before I decide.

theres some lines for sale on trade me seent hem last night they look nice

Yeah little old. There are some mojo's for $700 that had some whory hole in the bottom patched up....

I had Mojo 2 years ago(year b4 they came into NZ) and sold them last March for $650.00 including Tyrolia LD12 and they were immaculate condition so $700 sounds a lot.

I really enjoyed skiing on them for the season although super stoked with ARV, definately more versatile and you can throw then around a lot easier. Not just saying that.

Anyone that hasnt skied the Armada range should try demo ing this winter. I will be all round the country, but let me know if you are having probs finding them.

When will you have some dates? I need to have new skis by mid july. I really want to demo ARV's and Mojos ASAP.

I know they are kinda old, but what are k2 seth pistols like 4 big mountain, they are prity chunky so they are probley ok?

I Can't Think Of A Name So Fuck IT!

Ok Ive checked out the ARV's instore and read the reviews and these look like the machine I want. I want to do a demo ASAP so I can buy some ASAP. What is available? I will be at Turoa next weekend (opening) then im up at snow planet from 8th-17 july....

I did my instructor course on a set of railed 1080s and I am about to do my NZSIA 2 on a set of TMs. I am a big guy & I think that the TM's rip on groomed trails.

Twin tips are the best for teaching on. You can ski switch & watch your class no worries. Most instructors I know are on either twins or race.

Ski what you want to man, that's what it's all about at the end of the day.

Yeah ive heard that more recently. TM's are way too soft for firm pack but are nuts in the right place. Im dead keen on these ARV's

I did my instructors on 190cm V-Pro. not the best for wedge turns.

The best ski is a nice race carver, but you still want some thing to free ski on.

Dont go too wide under foot, and get some thing stiff. Karma, mojo, enemy.

Stage One: I can do parrell teunrs and a wedge. You dont need to be hucking big shit, or ski switch. Just have perfect parrell. And that my friend is easy on a nice slalom ski.

Buying Lines from overseas isnt too expensive.

I just got some Pollards adn the missus got some Assasins from tramdock.

shipping in each case was about US$65

this is what i have for this season, can't wait to get back to nz so i can try them out... i'm doing stage 1 this season as well... i got these instead of the mtx pro because the 75mm waist is better for nz snow (i have the big stix 106s for powder days)...

http://www.tramdock.com/tramdock/LIN0027/c1/s1/Line-Assassin-MTX-Alpine-Ski.html

you can still buy them online... for $327US... prolly a bit short for most people though, but i'm a midget...

life is simple, ski, surf, get out there and enjoy!

Yeah wanna demo before i buy. Im heading 2 canada for summer so may look at them then. Wolf has set me up with an ARV demo this weekend at Turoa - Cher!
