any1 no what sizes nxt yrs ar5s come in, im lookin to buy a pair but the 160s to small for me an the 170s a little big, so im hopin thr changin the sizes

right now im like 5'6or 5'7 but im sposed to be around 5'9 or 5'10. And here in the east they tell you that ur ski shud go up to ur nose or some shit. I demoed 157s and they hit my nose right on but i was like an inch shorter then so idk, but my frend is abt 5'10 an he has the 170s an they go up to the top of his forehead

 
yea i think its more about preference cuz tanner hall skis shits that are like 8 inches above his head but im sorta screwd cuz i like to ski bumps annd shorter skis are better an i like to ski park and all mountain where longers better for balance. I dont know

I have no idea why the people at my local shop always suggest skis that are so short. Last year i was like 5'2 or 5'3 an they rented me 150s. I dont know i thought they knew what they were doin in there

 
Armada didnt change the sizes next year- 160-170-176-180 for the AR5s. I ride down here in the southeast and they only lenght i really ski is the 180 AR5- every now and then I will take out a t-hall or ar5 in a 176. I'm 5'9/10"

You would be fine on the 170 i think- Skis aren't really measured out like snowboards, its just what you're comfortable with.

Yea dude flex is way more important than relative length. I'm 5'11'' and I rock the 180cm AR5 and the 176 T-Halls. You should for sure rock the 170cm. They do make a Tanner in that size next year too so if you're planning to just ski park on this ski go for it. They look sick too. You can ski soft skis long............

yea its prob cause they arent used to the twin tip factor. aka since there is a secong tip about 6-8cm is not in contact with the snow. so scale up around that amount to size right for twins. if you want between 160-170 then 170 is perfect for you.

i definatley plan on getting the 170s if i get the AR5s. i havnt skied them yet, and even though iv only herd amazing things i still wana demo them beofre i buy. But based on what ive heard, ill like them.

 
get the 170's, i am like 5' 8-9" and i rock this years ar5 in 170, just cork your spins if you think they are too big for you, but i dought they will be. and um, remember that the ski up to your nose thing doesnt work on twins, you have to remember the back tips and the nose wont be on the snow, just pick whatever, i think you should grow into them tho.

yea im 6' and on 165 troubles...yea i know fuckin tiny..but i really need to get some new skis for next year, would a 180 be too big for me? And if a ski is like exactly your height would that be too big? thanks

I'm 5'10-5'11 and im no 171's...Go bigger, I want at least 176 next year.

Hopefully Ninthward makes that 176 im lookin' for.

the 170's are good you will grow into them and if you get twin tips then it is like 5 cm shorter than what they say cause of the tips

i ski 180s and 176 ar5s and i am 5'7" but u say u ski bumos, people who say short skis are better in bumps are hack like. like i ski 170s in moguls but they are only like 2cm bleow the top of my head

do it for yourself and no one else
 
170 sounds good for you... as for pictures, they're not the same graphics as the ones tanner was using, so that doesn't help. Ask your shop if they have acatalogue you can see.

i ski in the east and everybodies skis are usually as tall or taller than them at trembs

pssssh that whole short ski thing is bullshit. My fujatives are like 6" above my head I learned unatural 540s the other day on them. It actually makes spinning easier cause the weight slows down the rotation.

Give a nice floaty feeling at the same time as being damn fast. And o corse they look much sicker than riding pathetic crappy 150's and the like.

Good for rails too as spreads your weight

 
5'6 and i ride the 168 scratches. was after the 174's but they were sold out.

tanner is about the same height and his are 176. so it really doesn't matter, but longer is always bit better.

if 160s are too small for u then jsut get the 170s casue ul grow unless ur like older n they shouldnt be too big anyway

 
I'm 5'9 and I use 179 Fujatives so 170's can't be too tall for you, if anything you will like it better with a longer ski.

naw dont ski on 175 or higher if your 5 6 unless your really hardcore... im 6 or 6 1 and 176's are as tall as me

I'm about 5'6'' and i have 182 troubles and i don't have any problems skiing with them. Take the longer ones, you won't regret it.

 
^ well, i guess you obvious don't know the math, because there's 2.54 centemeters in 1 inch. meaning that means 176's are 69.3 inches long, or just over 5'9. so you're obviously not 6'1.

Sorry sorry sorry, I was tired last night and I got a bit confused with the lenght's, so I'm more like 5'10'' than 5'6''. That would've been like midget on two logs, which it isnt't.

In my opinion you should pick the ski that is as long as you are, or even longer. I think that longer sticks are better to ski, especially when centermounted.

 
no no i am 6 1' just trying to say my skis are almost as tall as me i wouldnt go any longer than that for myself if i was just skiing park but thats just my preference
