My shop somehow still has a few pairs of these for very cheap. I am 5' 7" and 125 pounds and ski alot of all mountain, but there is no powder where I live. could some one who has ridden them tell me how they ski? are they similar to the ar6?
 
I like the AR5, but I have only ridden the original ones. Great all mountain park ski, and the designs for that ski that year were pretty sick IMO.
 
I had/have a pair of the 176s. I haven't ridden a ton of other skis in my life, but i think they're pretty dece. definitely fun for what i think you will be doing with them. i found they werent so hot in pow, but you wont be riding that, so that's ok. im not sure if it's just now because they are worn out, but they seem to be pretty soft. though i remember thinking they were pretty stiff before, so im not too sure on that one. all in all, they are still a great ski as far as i am concerned, so as long as you dont feel the need to have the latest model, and the price is right, id go for it. i also dont know what size you are and what size ski you are planning on getting, but in general, those are my thoughts on them. hope this helps a little.
 
i got em dude and i love em. ive had them a couple years now and it just makes me sad cause of the wear ive put on them. my favourite ski that i have used so far. i dont find them that soft? id say they are about perfect. i have the 180 and im about 6 feet and 170 pounds. real deal yo, pick up a pair especially for cheap
 
i've had mine for 2 seasons and have absolutely loved them. I treat mine like crap and they have still held up quite nice...a very solid park ski for sure
 
nope they're pretty stiff.

I've owned the 06 AR5 for a season, I was very happy with them.. it's a very good park ski. The AR6 are a little wider, which is why I like them better...... but if you can get the AR5 cheap and don't have powder, I would go for it. The graphic is sick.
