could someone explain to me what is going on in this picture. all i see is black p-tex, and if all they did to reinforce the edges was put black p-tex buy them, i dont think its gonna work.

is the base or edge or something thicker in that spot?
 
they screwed up with that, it is reinforced, if you look at it from the side you can tell, but it is like way far back on the ski, so if you center mount your skis your only using like 1 inch, which is stupid cause if you mount your skis far back your probably not gonna be doing many rails, and if you center mount them your probably gonna be doing alot.
 
Stop talking some shits like that this black strip undr Dynastar ski really works, and it got another metal part in the ski to not to brake the edge. This black strip is much longer than Your binding and boot, nobody install your bindings 10 to front or rear haha You've got about 2or 3 free centimeters of this black strip it means that You've got double harder base up there. Sorry for english still learning. I've got them and I know they're sick and It reallyworks not the same like in Atomics. Shitt
 
The pic is from Freeskier's site, and this in the article with the pic. Supposedly the Airport lost Anthony's bags and then when they got them back this had happened to them.

"Chris O'Connell, Greg Strokes, Anthony Boronowski and filmer Rich Goodwin arrived yesterday, but were not accompanied by their bags. Left somewhere between Western USA and Austria were skis, clothes and camera equipment. Most of the bags arrived late today, but Anthony's had clearly been run over by a truck or some other large object you wouldn't want your ski bag coming in contact with."
 
when i first saw those (ants) i was like what the fuck are the curves for, nose buttering but sucky deal about getting ran over probably. I bet you somebody from K2 or Line saw those and got jealous
