I was at my shop the other day and they had a demo pair that were never picked up. They look so good this year much better than last years.

the new chronics and the blends are wider than last year. They are also a little stiffer, more for all-mountain than park. Don't try to ski deep powder with them, depending on how much you weigh.

i honestly think they skis flex doesnt make a world of difference, if you need tons of pop to get onto rails, you should get heavier skis and work on your leg strength. just my take on things, because i like heavey stiffer durable skis

actually the flex makes a lot of difference it's all personal preference about what you want. like try a chronic and then try a invader. you will feel the difference a lot doing rails is a lot different and you feel it expecially on landings. and um heavier and stiffer don't mean durable like stl's will hold up just as good as a chronic.

i was stating my preference in heavy/durable/stiff, i never said heavy and stiff mean durable. and i know you can feel a difference, i just think it doesnt make a significat difference in overall performance.

Stiffness makes a world of difference.

I have a pair of fujas, crichtons and had a pair of chronics but they died.

Fujas are made for buttering, they have very little pop, so when you flex them they stay there. Super soft ski. They're not as nice to land backseat with because you fall over. They don't do to well everywhere but they're ok for pow just because of the wideness.

Crichtons are medium/soft but have mad pop. They butter ok. They're nice for just about everything except for chop/crud or pow because they're not stiff enough to do all mountain and they don't have the width to make up for it. They're really nice on groomers however. Durability also lacks. If you plan on doing rails DO NOT get this skis.

Chronics are stiffish. They also have mad pop but are no good for buttering but do much better than the Crichtons and Fujas for all mountain. They're my favourite of all the skis. They were also made to be durable. The bases on those things were at least 3 times the crichtons thickness and maybe 1.5 time the fujas. The edges didn't wear down and the one time I tried to sharpen them It left grooves in the file (yes I know a file only works 1 way). However delamination was a major problem this year. If they fix the delam problems and If I didn't already have 2 pairs of skis I'd get the Chronics next year.

I think that's the longest thing I've ever written here.

Oh yeah, All of the skis were mounted with P10's. The chronics were really light, the fujatives were just slightly heavier than the Crichtons.

I had the 177 Chronic, 179 Fujative, and 175 Crichton. The crichtons were actually the same length as the chronics. I'm 5ft 9 and 140lbs.

Umm, they'd be butterable. Not easy by any means but you can butter just about anything. I'm just guessing that they'd be a bit short for you. I'm only 5'10 and they were a little bit shorter than I'd like.

no i think 177 will be ok...i currently have 03-04 scratch fs skis in 174 and i liked the sizes.

i'm probably going to buy next years chronics
