05/06 bindings

4frnts are just vists with a paint job and the looks no longer have the pivot heel

^if the new line binding is tweaked to iron out the few problems they've had this season (and i cant see how they wouldnt tweak them) then it is gonna be sick

 
I skiid the new line's allready and broke them basically, they were on prophets and the fucking thing's would stay in place they kept moving and yeah, too many moving part's. i think i broke the piece that keeps the heel piece form sliding. but i would have had to take them apart to figure it out for sure, i was disapointed.

Just dip your dong in paint and smack your helmet with it.
 
yea calskierx, that happen to me when i tried to set them up my self.. the toe piece wouldn't lock into place. a lot of people try to set them up them selves and you just can't, you gotta get a local shop techy to do it.

The 4FRNT binding is based off the VIST, but it has certain features that are exclusive to 4FRNT. If you ordered a VIST, you wouldn't be getting Deadbolts...

 
the only place i've seen a pic is in the new line catalog...find someone with one of those and you've found your pic

the only thing the 4frnt is gonna have, as far as I know, different than the VIST is the screw pattern in the heel piece. Apparantly it's gonna be more appropriate for freeskiing (AKA shouldn't tear out when landing switch).

I know 4frnt claims they have features that are unique, and vist won't have them. That's great, they made some modifications. But vist went and used them too now. I went and checked them both out at SIA. It literally is the same thing now. Sorry to say it. It's a good binding though.

the 05/06 reactors are nearly identical to the current ones with the exception of stronger plastic. the weight, i think, will remain the same

the ones with the camo gorillas are sick looking though!

the deadbolts have two independent springs in the toe piece. one for lateral release and one for upward release. this make for a more consistant release at all settings, in all snow conditions.

ya its true 4frnt is the same as the new vist binding. im pretty sure the line team bindings (camo) cost the same as regular reactors and they are exactly the same.

Look is NOT a pivot anymore, neither is Rossi...thank your greedy companies for capitolizing on a good product and making it cheaper, only to charge you the same if not more...

4FRNT is NOT a Vist, wider screw pattern, different foward pressure mechanism, different heel plate, different brake mechanism (avoid brake drag), replaceable heel lever...that is NOT the binding you would get if you ordered it from VIST...these features are exclusive to 4FRNT...

not the pivot part, that's true. Looks and Rossis don't have the pivot heelpiece anymore. But if you think that Look is doing this to save money, think again. They've been making the pivot bindings for years. They've got tons of molds and perfected the production process.

With the new bindings, they had to do research and development, create test models, build molds, machines etc.etc. I think that Look/Rossi beleive they have made a better binding here, because they certainly aren't saving any money. We just have to wait and see how the binding turns out.

maybe I'm gullible. maybe I'm crazy. But, right now at least, I refuse to beleive that Look/Rossi would drop the best/most prefered binding on the market just to save a few bucks. It really sounds like a bad business plan.

yeah im with that guy^^^ just because the heel doesnt pivot like the old bindings does not mean its a crappy binding. at least give it a chance before you just write it off like that. im glad i have this years p12s though, i dont like buying something until its proven itself a good product, especially a binding, where my knees are at risk.
