'04 ARV vs. '05 ARV

Just wondering if the only difference is the graphics and the extra 2mm because I don't want to pay $200 more for a ski that is a bit fatter. Is the flex, construction, side cut, radius and all that shit the same or is the ski completely made over like the Pistol was? As of right now I'm thinking of getting the '04 just because the only difference seems to be going from 123-90-113 to 125-92-115.

 
from what i heard, they don't have the slanted side wall no more. not sure what else.

i kinda like the look of the new ones tho. but looks don't mean the ski is better.

 
The 04 ARvs have a much stiffer flex to them. If you will... the 05 ar5s took the flex of the 04 Arvs, and the 05 Arvs too the flex of the 04 Ar5s. Sweet ski now, a definite buy.

they new ARV is a much better ski. I talked to my armada dealer about the changes between this year and last. They are way better. get them; or a made'n/vicious

They use a different core then all the other armada's. It is composed of a lighter weight wood lam in the center and a denser wood towards the edges. This makes them way lighter then the previous years even with the extra width. They also come with burlier edges then in the past. Personally I still like my 03-04 arv's...but that's just me ;)

 
FUck both are tight. I got my "05's for like $400 at the beginning of the season and I couldn't be happier. Oh well... actually if I had got Mo ships I might have been happier. dammit.

and I almost got 04 arvs for like $190 but some fucking kid got them right b4 me. damn. I woulda rocked them both.

I asked a friend at sports den in Utah and this is what he said. The new 185 is 130/95/119 and the old was 125/92/115. Def a little bigger.

 
^ u are right. but there is no noticeable difference in like 2 mm. go for the better price/ looks. hmm... actually the '06's are sweet.

Yeah there both good. the 04 AR5 was a total screw up but the ARV was nice. Didnt fall apart and die like the AR5.

They're both pretty cheap this time of year, just get 05's.

sweet this is the exact post i needed coz im buying 04 arv's very soon, anyone have a suggestion were to mount them for like 70%park
 
if ur not goin to ride alot of powder then i would center mount them but..i would say like 1 or 2 back cause u probably would ride powder.
 
my 04-05s 185's are going up for sale.. end of the season or sooner if you're interested). Almost new condition.. and I would say mount them 2cm-3cm back from center for that much park. Mine are 2.5 forward from recommended and they are sweet.
