04/05 scratch bc too fat for east coast?

east coast, i ski a lot of park with some moguls, groomers, all mtn. i go out west once a year. i'm 6'4" 215 lbs. i'd probably get the 182s

i like the scratch bc but i'm worried it might be too fat for what i would use it for. i've heard mixed opinions saying that the fatness is more stable but doesn't work too well on hardpack. i don't want to sacrifice doing moguls and skiing the mountains just so i can have a more stable ski in the park. does the fatness really make that much of a difference elsewhere on the mountain?

thanks

are you fucking kidding me? im 6'2 and ride 187s. your fuckin retarded. as far as how they would be out east, cant help you there

not too fat.

i ski mt snow, jay, stowe, sugarloaf, mad river, etc. with a pair of 4frnt MSP's, size 180 (90mm waist)

before that i was on a pair of Line Motherships...

scratch bcs should be good. I ski in PA on mike nicks that are 86 at the waist and I never had problems with ice or the bumps. stay away from the 05-06 bcs because theyre wider than past years (95mm?) but the sprayer bcs and last years bc are 90mm and should be good.

i used to ski the 180 v pros a few years ago, i found them enjoyable on the east

wider skis are ill...i'd say go for the bc's man

i ride the volkl karma 119-87-111 / on the east coast all year round / you can't go wrong with a little extra in the middle and the bc's aren't that wide anyway / i'd say get them

at your size it'll be a good park ski, and it won;t be too wide. I have skied the 182 BC and im 6ft 160lbs, and i almost got a pair for myslef as my park ski, and im on the east coast.

ive skiied thalls, and they didnt handle to well on all mountain, so i doubt dack country skis would be great, so shove it up your ass

You no nothing, t halls work fine out of the park. The reason they didnt for you is because you suck at skiing. And 90mm waist isnt to fat for the east, you can never go to fat.

sorry i dont live to ski, some of you guys are real douche bags, you cant just say something to fix what someone else says you always have to be dicks about it, so fuck you, burn in hell

Just because you no nothing on the situation and you post just so you can get a post in, You shouldnt be pissed that someone was right about your knowledge of nothing.

dude your 6'4 and 215 you should think about getting a beefier ski or atleast I would. I'm 6 and 175 and I have the 182s and on an icy day at high speeds they flop around. I would say go for the 188 if you want the bc but I dont ski the east so I cant give definite answer.

i think it would be too wide if you are going to ride on icy moguls...then again if you are really good at them, you should still be able to ride on them just not as good as you would with the FS. it would be a better idea to have a pair for mogul, and one for pow. you can always rent a fatty out west anyway.

tp manager here in nc is sponsered by rossi and all he rides is scratch bc , and we dont have any backcounty lol.

Skiing in NC aint so bad

I hate it when snowboarders think they are so cool because they can 50 50 a rail

I ski explosives in VT and they work real nice.

i ride the pistols and the made'n AKs in NJ/NY/VT and they work fine. the made'n AKs are bit hard to ride on the groomers and i prolly wouldn't recomend em to anyone on the east coast, but my pistols work awesome. as long as you are a decent skiier, you should be fine with the scratch BCs. as for length, you're a pretty tall dude so i would possibly go with the 188s but thats ur choice. im 5'10" and i ride 179 pistols so personally i think you should size up. but thats only my opinion.

i ride the 04/05 BC's in maine, vermont, NH and what not, they are by no means too fat. They carve great for a fat ski, im 6" 160lbs and im riding 182's and love them! they are awesome in the woods and todays modern fat skis are carving better than ever, its like riding an suv they just feel like they can rip everything and id def recomend getting them on the east coast

I live in Vermont and ride my Pistols more often than I ride my PEs. Pistols don't really like ice, but what ski does other than hard core race sticks. Otherwise, their quick edge to edge, carve like a dream, and just a really fun ride.

from experience out east, all the mountains are usually ice and if i were you id get a much smaller ski. I think that a 95mm waist is much to big for out east. If you go west once a year then its not worth the extra money for it.
