0 Park Etiquette

This year my local mountain, Shames Mountain, got a really nice park and... low and behold no one has any etiquette (sp?) at all. Me and my friends were waiting to hit the kinked box and when it was our turn, a pack of little boarders come from behind us and hit it. Now we have to hike back up more to get some decent speed for it and, again, a bunch of boarders in a pack of about 6 go to hit it.

2 of them wipe, so we just left it and went to ski the rest of the run. Why don't these people ever have some common decency? When they go by us we tell them to wait and they just ski past. They're all the little kids like

I felt like going super slow onto the box so i could just hop on and stand still on it and eat my lunch or something. Wouldn't teach them anything but it would be funny.

ya man, same here with our biggest table, little retards who shouldnt even be on it snaking everyone and hitting it. We started getting really pissed one day and just kept hitting it the same time as them if they went for it after we were already riding down(because we start way further up so we actually CLEAR it) and that made them look out. Either that or sometimes i just put a staff jacket on and tell them they can't hit that table anymore, go to the smaller one.

HOly shit, the park at my mountain sucks ass, and the only people that go in besides me and others are people that have no skill whatsoever anywhere and try to hit things. Like the rails they just go and try to ride on and fall or the jump. They decide they have enough speed and go for it, and never clear the jump, maybe sometimes they will come within 6 feet of the landing. And none of them ever have park ettiqute. You say dropping or dropping next and some dumbass snowboarder who was sitting on he ass just procedes to go right infront of you try something and fall.

All in all people who shouldnt be in the park and have no park ettiqute piss me off.

Snowboarders have no respect. They think they rule the park and they dont take skiers seriously. They piss me off so much.

yeah wherever i go there are crappy retards that are slowly going down the trail and when your straightlining right for the jump to get enough speed they either go off of the jump slowly and get in your way or cut across your path and make you slow down, then ill yell at them and they will look so confused like what did i do, it pisses me off so much

yea i hate it whent that happens. and i also hate it even more when people stop on the top of jumps and just kind of roll off the top. i hate it when people do that( more skiiers tend to do that) i also hate it when people go extremely slow and get like 3 feet of air. its like they enjoy landing flat.( more snowboarders tend to do that)

one time i started going for a jump and this other kid came up behind me. I was so concentrated on beating him to the jump i didn't see the little kid on the jump. I saw him at the last second and was like Oh Crap and I turned.

rolling off the lip isnt that bad...where i am, theres little 2 year olds that wedge up, dont have enough speed, and slide back down again, and fall cuz they were going backwards...thus holding up everybody while they pick there 35 pound asses up and get away from the jump

I think that in general the park is a reflection of society. Where 90 percent of the people are dumb mother fuckers and the other 10 percent bitch about it on the internet.

 
its sucks when people fuck up the flow in a park. BUt its not just snowbaorders, tahts silly, if you notice its only the people who dont know what they're doing. but at least theyre interested in our sport and we need to teach them whats up. that little 2 year old who fell backwards down your jump (by the way, i bet he was like, 5, but whatever) he's gonna be the nastiest skier out there in 10 years and kickin all our asses in comps. thats what its about, the progression. so dont be a dick and scream yeall and throw things, but just explain to these people that there is an order and ettiqute and all teh shit we know. 90% of the time there gonna be happy, and never cause another problem, but only if you tell them without saying fuck every third word. and if that doesnt work, beat the fuck out of them

In my park, a bunch of stupid fucking dads who couldnt ski ten years ago try hitting jumps again. Last year one of them laid on the landing talkig to his friends. He was laying on our 50 foot table, and i landed right on him. He got up, and tried to beat my ass like it was my fault!!! Im only 15.

Fucking true - boarders and shitty skiers are riding so far out of their league half of the time that they will hit a jump and fall. Then they take a damn hour to get up. By that time, a hundred other shitty people have gone through and eaten it too. The process keeps going until they are all on their asses and no one can get through the park. Learn to ride and don't get in our way.

 
I don't sweat it. If I call drop and some other moron tries to snake me, I just keep going. Being 6'5' and about 210 with all my gear on, I really don't worry myself about some pre-pubecent knuckle-dragger.

I feel quite the opposite, if you are in the middle of a park run then you have the right of way downwards and all the shit. If you are stopped and waiting to hit something you wait until its clear...parks aren't made for people to sit on their asses they are made for whole runs.

this weekend i was in the park waiting to hit this table when some guy didn't get enough speed to get up the jump so he stopped and duckwalked up the kicker then poled across the traney... and usually it's the bad boarders and skiers that do the dumb shit, the good ones are cool

 
Yeah snowboarders are really bad about their park manners. They sit there for like an hour and you never know when they are going to move their lazy ass. Then they go and cut you off and don't do anything but continue going down the hill missing all the rails and jumps. What gives?

 
yea i have to agree...the little 2 year olds (literally) that hold us up now will be kicking all our asses in 15 years...imagine if we got into newschool at 2 years old how good we would be now

I was at Beaver Creek during Presidents Day weekend and in the park were just a bunch of people that should not have been there. It was my first time grinding and I was about to drop, when this lady that could not ski just went on the side of kicker to the rail and just straight aired it. This happened about 20 times I was quite angry.
