Dear Skiing community,
Hello,
I am Burr! People call me Burrski.
I live to ski. It has always been my happy place.
I have never been a strong park skier unfortunately. I have progressed some but when it came to jumps, after a certain point of trial and error I decided rails was what I...

I have a trip to keystone scheduled for late november. Not sure what will be open or if area 51 will be fully open. If anyone’s knows when/if the park will be open around november 16 it would help. Should i go or reschedule the trip for the spring when i know the park will be fully open?
I have a trip to keystone booked for November, not sure what will be open or if area 51 will be open, however if the park will not be open i don’t think it would be worth it.Should i go or reschedule it for spring to insure the park will be fully open?
I'm 18, 160 5 foot 10 and I ski on the east coast, primarily mt snow, ski sundown and other small mountains in ct. I want a ski for park and trees mainly rails tho. I already have 2021 line blends. I like them but I find that they are too unstable and too wide in the trees when I don't get...
I usually work in ski shops in winter and bike shops in summer. I hate working at the bike shop I'm at right now (Management is more shit than a J-Skis topsheet). Looking for advice from my SLC crew. EVO in SLC looks like a cool shop to work, especially if they're doing bikes and skis all in...
When it comes to premieres, Faction do not fuck about. Our Editor @Twig has been to all of them so far, and he's a pretty reserved guy normally. The last time a Faction world premiere came around, he woke up the next day on an unknown roof in Paris. Various unnamed members of the staff and team...
Two of the last three years, Wild Mountain, a small midwest hill on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border just Northeast of the Twin Cities became the first resort in North America to open its slopes for skiing and snowboarding.
Now, as resorts report their first snowfall across the mountain west...
Back in April, the Newschoolers crew hit up Banff Sunshine Village for our third annual ski testing bonanza. Thanks to our pals @sunshinevillage , @evo.com and @DissentLabs we went even bigger and better than ever before. We brought more skis and testers once again, and the whole event just...
I just moved across the country to attend the University of Utah and pursue Chemical Engineering. Utah is amazing and I’m already loving my decision to come out here for college and the skiing.
My question is, is there any way to interlink my passion for skiing and ChemE? Is there any part of...
Been progressing my park skiing and steamboat has no tramps, airbags, foam pits, anything. And finding housing up here is an absolute nightmare. Been looking and found many places in frisco, copper, keystone area. I know copper has a world class park with world class off mountain training. Was...
It’s an overcast Thursday in Revelstoke and all of my bosses are out of office for one reason or another. Congrats Peter, good luck Dave and Twig enjoy whatever the fuck it is you’re doing in Europe. I’ve sent my emails and posted a throwback clip and decided to finally put metaphorical pen to...

As the summer sun casts its (scarily) warm glow on the Swiss Alps, riders from across Europe are once again flocking to Snowpark Zermatt. After a prolonged closure last summer, the park has made a triumphant return, and I saw no choice but to make my regular summer pilgrimage to check it out...

Pride events have always had some backlash. The idea that skiing is
Two common themes
"Don't shove your politics down my throat I'm here to ski!" and "The mountains have always been accepting of everyone.
In a sense you can see it. We head up to the...
I love skiing. Ultimately, that is why I do what I do. However, it is easy to become jaded and to forget. I watch skiing pretty much constantly, year-round. Skiing has become work and I've had a bunch of injury issues. When I'm sitting at home with free time, I'll watch snowboarding...
As skiers, we're often concerned about the impact of, well skiing, on knee health, particularly the risk of ACL injuries. To gain valuable insights into this topic, we compiled the most compelling quotes from skiers in this NS thread about narrow vs wide skis and people's preferences for dodgy...
Rylie Warnick ( @Jit.girl ) had basically never skied park before this season. On April 1st, she won Spring Showdown at Snowbasin Resort, taking home a $1k cash prize and what we presume has to be the title of fastest ever progression from newb to podium. In a matter of months she went from...
