    chads on snow blades

It LOOKS photoshopped. And a bad job too. Notice how it's just been blurred where the skis were. It's not hard to transfer a photoshopped image to a camcorder and display it on tv, then take a picture of it. Post the video, and I'll believe it!

    Removing pole grips?

If you use lube, like some people suggested (don't know if it'll work), then make sure you wash all of it off again afterwards (with soap), so the grip will stay on the pole... Boil that shit!

    Removing pole grips?

Cut off a little of my poles about a month ago. Here's how you do it: 1) boil water. 2) put rubber grip in boiling water to heat it up. 3) wear an oven mitt, pull really hard on the end. 4) if it doesn't budge, have someone else pull on the other end. 5) it pops off. 6) cut off the excess...

    pole length?

Ok, to solve everybody's problem: Buy some nice Leki adjustable poles, and set them to half your height (if you can't figure it out, it's the same as stacking two poles on top of each other, and not having them exceed your height, and NO, a rep didn't tell me that). When you see that the poles...

    pole length?

the vertical length is bullshit - everybody's poles should exceed your height, when put together!!! Look at the chart I posted. Let's take an average height of 180cm (6') - that'd give you maximum 3' poles (90cm) - that's pretty damn short!!!

My bad - googled a little quick there - it was a guide for cross country poles ;-) This one should do: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/snowshack/skipole-guide.html

    pole length?

Look at this chart: http://www.stolaf.edu/people/welchb/skiing/poles.html Although you're better off going to the store, grabbing a pole, turning it upside down, grabbing it just below the basket, and checking that your elbow is 90 degrees...

    Avalanche Protection

You guys need to learn how to do proper research and back your numbers up (not you Gdawg). If you want avalanche survival stats, try this article: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=10560307

    180 to 180

You can't spin 180 and then 180 back, but I guess if you keep your upper body steady you can. Kind of like that old school moguls move (can't remember the name) where you move your legs 90 degrees to one side, then 180 degrees back, then 90 degrees back to center....

    freestyle in europe

Norway got parks before the resorts in the Alps. Wouldn't go to Val Thorens (FR) for the park though - if you do go there, head over to the lower park in Meribel, that's pretty good...

    waterproofing levels for dummies

Tech specs: Waterproofing is measured in millimeters of pressure. Let's say you stretch out the fabric and place a large tube with water on top, then a fabric with a waterproofing of 5000 (mm) can withstand water from a tube that's 5 meters long (that's a little more than 5 yards for you...
