i have lived near mammoth (in tahoe) and i am currently riding whistler...mammoth's long seasons are all dependent on what the entire norcal weather is doing...a couple years ago the upper mountain from mccoy station was open until july 4th, and they made a small effort to keep their parks...

you'll only get to rose in 15min if you live in southside of town, which is where i am at right now if you're moving here to ski, i'd suggest living in north reno where you can find some nice places for good prices, and I-80 has access to northstar and squaw and alpine mt. rose is a family ski...

i'm surprised that some of the black park hasn't been relocated, since there's that steep section before the XL park that is completely useless (and they put only a c-box on it, too)...whis park is laid out much better, too bad it didn't stay open

did anyone see the pile of rails and boxes at base 2? looks like they're from the whis park, but not sure...perhaps they're moving them to black park?

i just moved up to the area and this is my first season i have spent entirely at Whistler, and I am curious to know if the rain that has been falling a few times this month is normal or if its because of el nino? ...my entire season at tahoe last year was similar to this one at whistler this...

this reminds me of an old ski bum i am sure many of us have all heard of... ...of course, that same spirit that warren miller had has lasted well into his old age everyone, let's all get chill and be ski bums!

yeah yeah! i found an article today about winter olympics 2010 that said that an olympic committee voted to include skier cross in the winter olympics...it's just another step to getting some pipe skiing and whatnot in the future mix check out the article here...

So we all know it's an El Nino year, and the snow is messed. The last time Tahoe ever saw a season like this was 1990-91, BUT if this season follows the pattern, there's still hope.... ...that season put out heavy snow in the middle of March. I hope that brings everyone's hopes up a little...

sweet...anyone here go to ubc (either in vancouver or okanagan) and know the rates for a season pass to whistler?
