i don't know what you've heard of but of the lessor known bands I was really impressed with MGMT. They put on an awesome show and have made me officially like the retro synth-rock revival we've got going on now. Their song "time to pretend" was in a snowboard trailer i think, i've heard it...

i don't know yet if i'll go into industry or stay in academia. either way it wont be as glamorous as many think it is. im gonna be poor for a good while and unless I'm one of the top scientists, engineers will probably make a lot more money then me. oh well. we'll see what happens.
