    HAHA you all suck

Scotland has the best pubs for apres ski. Everywhere else is fake pubs. Actually, had a ripping, sunny powder day at Aviemore (spelling??) once. One day maybe I'll go back.

Looking To Come Out There, HELP!!!!!

Or hike Loveland Pass! It will be rocking then. you can do the car shuttle thing. Lift tickets put a serious hurt on the wallet, even at the smaller ski areas.

    Loveland pass

It may have been better than paying (and I hate to pay as much as you do, for sure), but you haven't skied up there (or in Colorado) very much if you think the "snow quality was pretty darn good." There is no base. Just a foot or so of snow on top of rocks. Sure, there may be areas where it...

    Powder reader poll

uuhh, what the hell does that have to do with anything????? If that had anything to do with greatness, everyone on this forum would be reading Ski. Besides, has Powder ever been through a formal circulation audit by ABC? Doubt it. I doubt Freeskier has either. So both companies probably fudge...

    ????

Just remember to be really nice and cooperative when they bust you. Usually "the authorities" will be super excited and all aggro when they first catch you, but if you say "I'm sorry" a ton and act innocent and just be like Beaver Cleaver, they'll usually end up letting you go with a warning...

    Powder reader poll

What he said. I really think you guys should stick to what you do best (and props to you, you do that really, really well). After all, your editor, Tom Bie is a telemark skier. Until the magazine's internal culture changes, you probably won't be able to cover the new school scene in a meaniful...

    Sequence shots?

I think Chris O'Connel uses point and shoot as well as the video grab technique favored here (as does Scott Markewitz, Alex O'Brien, Christian Pondella, Erik Seo, Mattias Fredriksson, etc, etc, etc). That's why he gets so much published!!!! Just kidding! I guess the real question here is are...

    Sequence shots?

Digital Cameras, unless you have a pro-body (camera body that is) are very tough to shoot sequences with. Film cameras - even the cheaper 35mm ones - can take great sequences if you have a motor drive. Point and shoot? Forget it. If you are really trying to get into photography, check out a...

    How was Loveland today?

Missed the jam, the mountain was the usual on opening day, kinda icy, got more and more crowded but pretty fun and everyone was stoked. I'll probably wait for more snow and open terrain before I go back, though. Only one run. . . What do you expect on October 14 anyhow?

    Powdwer leashes?

Uhhh, I think you mean "safety straps" Powder leashes (unlike safety straps from back in the days before ski brakes) are not meant to be attached to the body. Only the ski (most heelpieces have a hole where you can do this, use a separate tie that can remain on the binding and which allows you...

    R.i.p

There's nothing any of us can do for your pain. And the scars will always be there. But this winter, get up for first chair and catch the mountain when it's empty and deep in the memory of your bro. He'll be riding with you on that day. . .

    Rant in freeskier...

You are also obviously one of the most articulate and intelligent people posting on NS. Next time be sure to give yourself props for that, too!

    Loveland opening on friday

Loveland is claiming to have some small rails/boxes set up at the base and I'm hearing rumors of a rail jam. Probably pretty basic shit.

    Loveland pass

Pretty sick if you like large rocks. Trust me. It's not good to go yet. One more big storm . . .

    Hiking

This is all true! If it slides, all you have to do is just go straight, like they do in the movies. . . And the snow is always the deepest when the chute has been wind loaded. That shit is the best. . . Why do you even care if people here go OB? Shouldn't you be posting on Biglines.com or...

    Seth Morrison

The only thing I can say about Seth, no matter if you think he rips or not, is that all he cares about is skiing. Skiing is Seth's bottom line and I've seen him go fucking crazy because he can't ski due to injuries. Not a pretty sight. If he wasn't pro, he'd be working at a ski area for his...

    FREEZE LIVES

Old news. . . Keep dreaming if you think Freeze will ever come back. It's DEAD! Now move on with your life. LONG LIVE SKI TIME!

Midwest finally has somethign West doesnt!

18 foot walls! Sorry, but plenty of pipes out west have walls higher than 18 feet. Still stoked for you though, that's a great thing if you live out there.

What do you know... Hitlist blew.

Actually, Greg Stump and RAP films both made movies that fit into the "extreme skiing" genre before Steve Winter got started. In fact, I'd be willing to bet good money that Steve Winter was influenced, in part, by Greg Stump.

What the hell is goin on over at LINE

Hey! I'm a big J Leventhal fan. I think their skis are really solid. But they do have a habit of promising things (bindings, website) and then missing the delivery dates. As far as working for Line? I'd rather be living where the powder is cold and deep than on the right coast.
