dude it sounds like when you we're spreding wax with the iron,you burnt your base, so the pores are not absorbing cause there sealed shut, take them in and get a base grind get them to put some base cleaner on them, then when you wax next make sure your iron isn't so hot, i wax let it sink in...

get some salomon s916's they are bomber as fuck, and thats the only time i recomend a salomon binding, and it sounds like you got a lemon for those bindings, you should be able to warrenty them
