The only down side to places like State is that there are no places to go that close. I'm at Ferris so we're close to caberfae, cburg, the boynes and nubs. We had a club a few years back but I'm not sure if its still around. Its easy to start clubs at college though so dont worry about...

Read this. http://www.ski-injury.com/helmet.htm It has different studies involving helmets on the slopes and also goes over the standards (SNELL and CEN) that they are put under and the amount of energy absorption they must have. ~n~

Actually the foam does provide protection. It compresses under impact. Yes it is hard if you push it with your finger, but throw a baseball at it and you'll see a dent. Plus most of the new helmets are multiple impact so the foam returns to its uncompress state. I'm ski patrol at my hill so...

You misssed a step. It is important to run the iron on your skis a few times before you wax to heat up the bases. It helps the wax soak into the skis more when they are good and warm. ~n~

Too bad that after a day of riding them the paint will be all flaked and chiped off. You have to use flex agent so it bends with the ski. ~n~
