see my problem is finding better places... i went to copper and vail last time and the bowls were too easily accessed and too "skied".... ill get to the point i can ski the steep and deep and i like bumps but i suck at them... i dont really wanna go somewhere and ski 45 degrees of bumps the size...

I'm trying to pick somewhere to go out west this year and I saw an article in ski magazine about monarch mountain. I know its really small and stuff but it looks like a good place to go for backcountry... my last trip out west was kinda disappointing the whole waist deep pow super steep back...

yeah it was mid february. there was plenty of snow it was like a tan/brown film on top of the snow though it was really weird.

the solid ice ones here in new york are especially fun. but seriously the one time i was out west we got 6" every night which wasnt really enough to call a "powder day" and there were a few prime bump runs on which i saw like 3 other people. bumps out west are amazing

i hate you. 2 years ago i stayed at copper february break and skied there and vail (which sucked). if it counts for anything i ate at a really good italian restaurant in frisco. and when i went past arapahoe on 70, the parts i could see were covered in brownish snow. can anybody explain this...
