airedale terriers arent small. i LOVE staffordshire bull terriers. they are a small dog, with minimal shedding. also ive always found norfolk terriers adorable, they are small. im not sure about the love of water though, i tend to think a larger dog might be better for beach going/watersports...

i dont recommend any chain restaurants, while they can be fine and good and all, usually little independantly owned places are way better, tastier food, and not usually too expensive. and they actually make their own food, as opposed to cooking from frozen. ick.
