The park works where it is. Would those other runs be nicer? yeah, the rollers would be nice for building, takes less snow. Safer? i don't really think so.
Double post to add:
I dont think CB's park is dangerous at all. If you think thats dangerous try skiing the midwest... When i ski the park at CB i can do it with confidence that the lips are shaped right, they carry me to the landing when i have the right amout of speed. In short, I dont fear...
Im not sure anything is wrong with the CB park, yeah...you can over shoot, but you can overshoot anything, look at the dumont crash...Coming from the midwest (wisconsin) i skied the cb park last year and i can tell ya that is 100% safer then most of the stuff we have back home. I like that CB...
I'll be there in augest to start school. I love gunnison and the valley area. So much to do there...ski, climb, bike, jeep, kayak, backpack...i cant fucking wait.
I'm no one really...I just make it up a few times a month. I'll be out tom (mon). I work for snowflake so be ready for a shitload of kids. Black inst. vest, grey pants old yellow 1080's.
I did what the guy who started this thread did, i consider myself a hard core skier, even though i'm not that great, i bought a snowboard and used it 2 times last year for about half a day each. But whatever you want to do is cool by me
I was up there on sat, they had the box out and a flatbar that was literly 3 inches off the snow...i talked to some of the park staff guys and they seemed pretty pumped about the park they're gonna have this year, i hear good things a few new rails and the wallride are worth looking foward too...
