couple options. if you have a little extra toe room in your boots, you can apply a layer of silicone to the outside of the liner. i remove the toe portion of my footbed and blend it down to make room. works really well. but the reason your bangin the front, is your instep area is too large...

yea man, the liners are softer in the silvers, and firmer in the golds. as for the boots themselves, the il moro has a very deep soft flex, tho they definitely stiffen up with the other tongues thou. the plastic is a bit softer in the shell than the rampages, and the upper strap slides smoother...

sandwich skis just get torn up man. thats y some sidewalls are beveled, it helps deflect the edge a bit. capped skis hide it better usually. its not a big deal tho, those parts of the ski are sacrificial, to protect the structural materials inside.
