    Jump onto Rail

Are you using astroturf as the inrun material? If not then disregard this post. I have a 12ft long box and used astroturn as an inrun material. I have a small backyard with no hills so I had to completly construct an inrun ramp. My ramp consists of an 8 foot tall tower that is 4'x4' and a...

Some fucked up program on abc

That's not exactly true, small changes in the sun's shape, gravitational field, solar wind, and a variety of other factors can make it hard to predict the exact path of a near-earth asteroid. And to reply to LE.Skiing. Asteroids hit the Earth all the time, but most are too small to matter much...

Snakes on a plane=most epic movie of all time

I completely agree. I mean Casablanca doesn't have snakes, and gone with the wind is distinctly missing samuel jackson.

    HDPE and coaping

I paid $70 for 13 square feet of 3/8" thick black HDPE. It's a little more expensive than the standard hdpe, but it's uv stabilized so it won't become brittle if it's left in the sun for a long time. I bought it at http://www.indplastic.com/index.cfm?id=116987&fuseaction=browse&pageid=59...

    HDPE and coaping

Pretty much the only thing that coping does it protect the sides of the plastic from chipping and scraping. I did not use it on my box and the sides of the plastic have been chipped a couple times, but it is not much of an issue. The box still slides very well with a couple dents and cuts in the...

    Extreme Ironing

I like this video, it's a solid job the shirt looks well ironed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWX6XJxVkB0 This one is really progressive, but I'm not convinced they achived a well ironed shirt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCg2B89EDEY And here's the promo for the new ironing dvd from...

Who thinks 180's are the dopest/most fun things to do??!?!?!??!

180's are great. I love doing them off of cat tracks, rollers, drops and features all over the mountain. It's just a fun easy trick.

    QP (skateboard)

Take a look at this website ( http://rampplans.org/ramps/ ) there are a couple plans for qps and vert ramps. Most of the ramps are very well built (ie not super cheap), but you could probably work with the plans to design one that would be cheaper to build.

    Wood Choice-box

Pressure treated is quite a bit more expensive, and harder to work with. I used regular 2x4 studs and then waterproofed the entire setup. Pressure treated lumber isn't worth it unless you are very concerned with insects/rot. Here's a page with more information about pressure treated wood...

Good places to download albums illegally?

Try checking your local library for music cds. The denver library has tons of music, and can even order cds if they don't have them. The denver library also has lots of dvds to checkout if you want to get some movies while your at it. Its a little more work, but you'll likely never get caught...

    Box Plans

I based my box off of these plans, but made a couple changes to make it a bit easier to put together. Also the build-a-jib 101 cult has a lot of really helpful information in it.

    Cutting HDPE

I've been looking around, and havent been able to find much about cutting the plastic. What has everyone's experiences been cutting HDPE (I'm planning on using 1/2" thick sheets)? I have a circular saw with a plywood/plastic blade, but I am not sure as to how it will work. Does the plastic cut...

What should i use for the inrun of my summer backyard rail

I've heard that some sort of snow fencing works, but i'd reccomend the tried-and-true astroturf. It's about 49 cents per square foot at home depot so its probably the cheapest solution too.

    CU Boulder

You'll need a car because all the good ski areas are about 1-1 1/2 hours away. The only thing close is eldora, and it's pretty much not worth going.

Couple questions from an incoming freshman at CU boulder

Yea the food is pretty bad, you'll get sick of it by the end. Will vill has the newest rooms (and I think the biggest), but it can be a bitch to go too and from willvill. I've slept through a lot of morning classes because of that. It's not too bad if you have a bike/board, but the bus can be...

    Port Forwarding--help a retard...

If you are dht firewalled, and not nat firewalled, it means you only opened the tcp protocol for the port you opened. To used dht you must also open up the udp protocol on the same port. I'd also recommend against putting your computer in a dmz as it leaves it completly open (better to only open...

    New Video pages suck...

The new video pages arn't too bad. It would be nice to get a video preview though. It's still a million times better than when all the videos where in the same section and you couldn't order by categories. I 'd say give it a little time and tweak it a little, and it will be great.

    Anthems for all mountain

I'd assume they would ski much like the invader, but a bit more stable. The invaders handle well enough out side the park to be able to ski anything. The only thing that they really suck in are trees/powder trees. However, because of the added underfoot of the anthem I would assume they are a...
