Nice flatspin 10 by ANDRI AMBÜHL (Schnalstal, Italy)

It's my favorite summer park in the alps. Some Californian friends were with me last time and they say it's better than Hood. I made a little edit during the last week of June, we're not pro riders but it gives an idea how much fun Italy is in the summer...

    Colorado vs. Utah???

Actually it's 100cm if you read the graph correctly and YES, Andermatt is 6000 vertical feet of epicness. Outside of january-february-march you just use the middle station and still get twice the vertical of Alta. Haha I loved the "you can find pow till 12" comment :)

"Where are you from and where do you ski" THE THREAD

I live in Zurich. During the season I ride mainly Laax, Andermatt, Portes du Soleil, Les Diablerets, Innsbruck, etc.. During summer months I ride the glaciers in Zermatt, Saas-Fee, Val Senales........ But I also travel a shitload to ride in NZ, Argentina, USA, etc.......

    Zermatt park

It is good right now because Reto and the other shapers are there now working hard on the park. I wouldn't say Saas-Fee is better right now, but it will be more consistent in the weeks to come because the Zermatt shapers are not staying. Everyone is kind of staying away from Zermatt because...

    Colorado vs. Utah???

WRONG. A dump in Andermatt is as deep as a dump in Alta. The snow statistics are almost identical for both resorts, have a look at this, Andermatt on a good year: Andermatt and Alta on a historically bad year for both: The reason why the blue graph is so much lower for Andermatt is because...

    Colorado vs. Utah???

????????????????????????? In Alta and Snowboard you have to get up early and RUN and wait in line and RUN again to get fresh lines. Powder is turned into moguls in a matter of 30-40 minutes. I hate needing to rush in order to get good skiing. It's really annoying. And these people rushing to...

    Avy gear south america

An illustration of my point would be people thinking they are safe and "in bounds" if they ride under the marthe lift in Las Lañas. This would be a typical beginner mistake.

    Avy gear south america

What I was saying is that beginners in Europe like to mess around between groomers and have an illusion of safety. This is a common mistake in Europe and many people die like this. More experienced riders know they also have to watch out between groomers. With n00b I meant newbie, a beginner...

    Avy gear south america

I didn't say that. I was in fact referring to beginning skiers and snowboarders.

    Avy gear south america

I think a common misconception is that resorts outside of North America have "in bounds" and "out of bounds". Unlike North American resorts where different ungroomed areas are made safe and marked by gates and ropes........ resorts in Europe and South America only secure the groomers, and there...

    Avy gear south america

You should buy avalanche gear before you leave. You need it and you will have a very hard time finding it in Argentina.

AVI to Ipod converter for macs

QuickTime Pro works really really well. Or you should just download the correct QuickTime plugin for the specific AVI you are using (DivX or Xvid I guess?) and use iTunes to convert the file for iPod.

Best Night Skiing in the Galaxy : You Decide

I've been night skiing at Keystone, in Alta with a snow cat, and in Laax, Davos and Flumserberg in Switzerland. Keystone wins.

    Where to live after college?

I live in Zurich, Switzerland... work a full time job... and manage to get 150 ski days in per year on average. So maybe you should think about moving to Europe.

Ohio Dreams = Dope ass summer camp for less $$$ than you may think

A week camp on the glacier in Les 2 Alpes costs $600. Not dissing your camp, but just saying there are other options to avoid the ridiculous costs of North American summer camps. East coast to France is not that much further than to Vancouver.
