Magazines don't get "sponsored", asshole, it's called advertising, and it's all based on numbers. Readers, their habits, what they buy, etc. You think the polls on freeskier.com or NS are there for your entertainment? You fucking retard, they're there to collect valuable demographic information. The long winded "reader surveys" you dilligently fill out collect demo/psychographics. You'll probably need a dictionary for the second term. Your info ends up collected, analyzed, synthesized, and used by the magazine to sell advertising.
THAT'S how magazines make money. Not "sponsorship". Not pissing people off might help some, but if Cream was down with not pissing people off, running an article written by Campbell over at 9th might not have been the greatest of ideas.
