He has found a slice of the market where Oakley and Smith have not yet ventured. Would it have been smart of Jon to launch another Crowbar clone? No. Such a concept would have crashed and burned before it even hit the stores.
So why does it piss you off when you hear that they will be expensive? Aha... Is the iPhone cheap? No. Is $107 a nice price to pay for a rather simple hoodie? C'mon, realize that everything is not aimed at you and live with that fact.

@ washbaugh: "its dumb to buy something for that much money just for the brand". Let me guess, you're not wearing no-branded sneakers or pants, right? What do you think the Oakley 'O' on the strap will cost you the next time you buy a pair of goggles?
And what about the attributes that are so legit among rappers... Badass rims, crazy Courvousier cognac, fat gold chains and stuff from Jacob the Jeweller. I don't buy stuff like that, (OK, I'm a sucker for the cognac) but if everything was accessible to everybody, life would be less interesting.

@ Willy C: A little quote from you: "Saying your gonna incorporate skiers who are rookies that make less then $10,000 a year and then trying to sell your goggles in airports to the upper-upper class are two very contradicting ideas. To me, this is the epitome of 'selling out'"
Those are not contradicting ideas. Those are DIFFERENT ideas. They don't have to match. Creating the sickesst event in the freeskiing world and the most high-end goggles on the market have very little in common – the only thing that unites them is the perfectionism and the ambitions that Mr. Olsson is well known for.

@ Willy C again: I appreciate you recognizing that Jon is giving even more back to the new school skiing world. Props to you for mentioning that, as I think that's something that goes largely unnoticed by most.
I'm not sure that any of you realize just how hard Jon and Olivia have worked to make JOSS fly this year, especially during these crazy times. I don't think that you would believe your eyes! Also, there's a crisis out there, perhaps you've heard about it?
Jon and Olivia don't just hand over a budget to an event agency. They create the budget themselvs, attracting sponsors, negotiating, organizing, briefing, reviewing, implementing...
Please, consider the above before yelling "put all the videos up" another time. Plus: Jon has already explained why the vids are released every second day. And it's not exacty that you pay for them, right?
Jon man that was some sick sick SICK urban. that handplant on the wall was so dirty man. you gotta start hitting some urban shit more often its really sick to see you can still push it at that. oh and the goggles, Jon you are the classy business man as always really like what you are thinking with this goggle brand. It will definately catch on (other than the fact that most of your market wears their sunglasses at the hill anyways). Jon Olsson you sir are a legend in this sport.
Keep in mind that Canada doesnt even have close toa fraction of the European population. You're just showing again "Drew@gagnier" how cocky Quebec really is. Always trying to be apart from Canada. The best skiers got chosen from the countries...Canada being one country.
