sizing park skis down from "regular" skis

i'm short and light (5'2') and usually ski 159/160 skis. i'm having trouble learning tricks, though, and am wondering if i should go shorter for park stuff. 153 just seems so short, though. opinions? i've never skied anything that short!

    1080's for touring?

i already have pe's that i ski tele and mostly inbounds. i'm a much better alpine skier so i also want an alpine touring setup to supplement. i know i like the 1080's on and off-piste, but i've never used them for touring. do you actually tour in pe's?

k2 just told me the new seth's are definitely stiffer than last year's. i wish they made them shorter!

    1080 vs. public enemy

i have the same question - which one? i want it primarily for off-piste backcountry touring (i'll be mounting them with naxo bindings) ... but i'll be using them on-piste a lot as well.

just curious if anybody on here does any alpine touring on their 1080's and how they like them for that ...

    silverton?

you gotta follow your guide and stay within the lines he sets. $99/day during low season; $119/day right now. no test or avy exp required, but you should know how to use your equip. this is basically backcountry skiing and there's no beginner or intermediate terrain out there boys!

    03-04 Publics....fuck

definitely check with the shope where you got 'em. sometimes your shop will be the middleman and if they have decent stock will front you some new skis.

    In need of your suggestions...

go to whistler. there's something for everyone there (even those who don't like to ski/board), and there's lots of it, too. the lines aren't really *that* bad; i've seen worse at other resorts ... and you'll love it so much you'll want to come back again and again and again. ;)
