You can't reinsert a missing edge. The best you can do is seal the missing piece w/some heavy duty epoxy to prevent delams and make the missing spot your outside edge. Otherwise, call up the manufacturer and see if they have the same ski in a warrantied pair. Most people send both skis back...

Either buy a RAID 1 external enclosure or a Drobo ( http://www.drobo.com/ ). Drobo's are amazing for redundancy and upgrading.
