    Edelwise

I was there a week ago (Dec 27th) and it was much better than I expected. The conditions were pretty gritty, but it wasn't very icy and the jumps were usable. I dunno if I'd go tomorrow, though, since there is supposed to be a mix of rain and freezing rain.

    Mont Ste Marie

Went to Mont Ste Marie and it was terrible. The conditions were icy and bumpy), the park hadn't been groomed, the jumps were terrible...

    Mont Ste Marie

Thank God they're ditching the half-pipe. It will be cool if they stick a big kicker there instead, in full view of the chairlift. A nice big kicker would make up for getting rid of the triple-diamond jump they had two years ago.

    Jumps Where?

They're step downs. Only bad thing about the position of the jumps, is you sometimes have people crossing into the landing area, because there is a regular run right next to the park (basically half of the top of Zoomer is the park, right before that big dip). Plus you get a lot of people who...

    Avila park?

Anyone been to Avila yet? Is the park there any good (on their site they say they're putting the half-pipe in it this year)? I'm thinking of heading there this Friday, so I want to know if it will be worth the trip...

Why do people have to learn to ski on the terrain park?

^ That's the one. Doesn't really deserve to be called a mountain, but it's got a nice park at least.

Why do people have to learn to ski on the terrain park?

At Blue Mountain their main park is closed off to regular skiers. You have to buy a special pass and watch a training video to get access to it. It's pretty sweet, since it cuts out the riff-raff and doesn't get crowded. Unfortunately, all the rest of the hills where I live are too small for...

    Terrain Park=Snowboard Park

I called a local ski hill asking if the terrain park was open yet and the woman didn't know what I meant. When I called it a snowboard park, then she understood. I also find that when I refer to it as a terrain park, half the time people think I'm saying 'training' park. Calling it a...

    Durability of twin tips?

That so, eh? Well, I called around and it looks like my other choices are the K2 Public Enemy, Volkl Expression, and Rossignol Scratch (and is there any diff between the Scratch and the Scratch FS)? 1080's are out as they're too pricey.

    Durability of twin tips?

^ That's what I like to hear. How about 2002 K2 Enemies? A local shop has some at a decent price, so I've been thinking about those. I heard the earlier K2's had a delam problem, but has anyone tried the 2002 model?

    Durability of twin tips?

I'm looking to get a pair of twintips, but I have a question about their durability. I mainly ski in Southern Quebec and Southern Ontario (I'm from Ottawa) where we don't get a lot of snow and conditions can be pretty hard. I'm wondering how a pair of twintips would stand up to repeated use in...
