I was wondering that too and I think it might be because from below, they were not expecting him to go off that cliff. Who knows though, maybe they are saving it for a movie. And to the guy asking if it would be the same force no matter what height: you are right but this cliff is not high...

I think everyone on this site thinks the same way including the writer of the article, john symms. It was just for fun and I really enjoyed reading it. I did have one problem though, Out Cold was better than any blockbuster ski movie ive seen.
