I did this once. took the kid out blew apart both his knees. They sued me and had my insurance cover both his knee replacements. kid was about nine and still growing had legs pinned. Cost over 200 thousand dollars once it was all settled. couldn't even see the kid he was in the landing and i was below the lip. he shouldn't of been there at all considering you needed to have a special pass to ride the large features at my mountain for the resort insurance reasons. But is still got sued. Shits fucked.
damn that was rough. 2 years ago I cut my kidney because of a gaper going across the landing like that. So that could of been bad on both parts,just be glad your both ok.
come on get off spol's back for cussing the kid out. sure it was harsh but brotein shake here commented five separate times explaining himself and apologizing to you people. can you really say you wouldn't have done the same thing? he was surely scared out of his mind that he just destroyed some little kid, and that much adrenaline certainly does not lend itself to to politely asking if he was alright. A situation like that is FUCKING SCARY.
Definitely not your fault, the kid shouldn't have been there. However, when you know there are non park skiers in the area (especially gapers on the knuckle), always assume they are going to fuck up. Run off to the side of the jump and tell them to leave the park if they can't stay out of the way. I for one would much rather skip the jump in a 10 minute lap than absolutely destroy someone and risk getting hurt. Not hating just throwing out my two sense. Have seen this shit way to much at Killington. Same thing happened to my buddy last year on last jump on dream maker except it was a middle aged man pushing 200lbs.
