I am tall and skinny as well and I have no motivation to hit the gym. When you have you have a super fast matobolism, its super hard to gain muscle, because you don't really have weight to work with. I personally choose to run instead, sure It won't make you 'buff,' but if your happy who the hell cares?
Ive always been skinny but about 4 months ago I started working out 4 days a week I always wanted to I just put it off forever. Finally my neighbor got me into it and I must say it is fun and I've gained like 6 or 7 pounds of muscle just drink mad protein shakes.
It's easy to put on mass, it just takes work. You need to shock your body w/ calories (especially if you have real fast metabolism). You should eat about 6 meals a day and shoot for 3000 calories (especially if you're skinny). To put on muscle mass you need to consume about 1.5 grams of protein per body weight a day and consume approximately 500 calories more than you use during a day. Doing this with working out should definitely show its work within 3 months. I've been lifting for about 5 years since freshmen year in highschool so I was already pretty well sized, but I changed my diet at school this year and I've gained 29 lbs of almost all muscle since september. So yea... lots of calories and protein and have a regular workout where you are lifting correctly to gain mass.
