Thinking about picking up/putting together a set for video, as I have found a couple of good deals. Does anybody currently shoot with them or have shot with them in the past and would like to shed some light on their experiences and opinion of the lenses?

I used to own a set of 25 2.8, 35 1.4, 50 1.4, 85 1.4.

Gorgeous lenses. I loved the look of them. Sharper than most vintage lenses, but still soft and low-con enough to take the edge off of modern 4K sensors.

The 35 1.4 was my favorite by far, but it was also by far the most expensive. Make sure you get all MM versions, as the AE versions have a funky saw blade bokeh shape. You might be into it but I always found it pretty ugly in the one AE lens I had (the 50).

Just pull the trigger if you find a good deal.

I have a set of two contax lenses. The 35-70 and 100-300. I have loved them both. Used them primarily for everything in the past two years. The image is great. Very vintage and smooth. The only thing i would say about them is there design. They are a one touch push pull design. This makes zooming smoothly hard and pulls a lot of dust into the lens. I would most definitely recommend a set. I don't own any of there primes but they look killer.

I have the 50 1.4 and I am buying a 28 2.8 really soon. There is a really good guide to all of them on REDUSER. I love my 50 so much. My goal is to get a set with the 28 2.8, 50 1.4, 85 2.8, and the 60 2.8 makro. I'm moving to an A7sII soon, and I think these are some of the best manual vintage lenses out there for future-proof use. The fact that you can only adjust by full stops can be a little annoying every once in a while for video purposes.
