i guess what im really asking, does it come down to ur cutter or the operator? Cause we had a decent pipe last year, so will it be totally gnar this year, or will we be able to tell much of a difference?
 
what hill you talking about? If you have a zaug you will probably have a super pipe. If you already had a cutter though, and not just a hand made pipe then I don't know how much a difference it will make.

Chill. There is a difference between a Superpipe and Halfpipe. And both the operator and the cutter are important, but the operator is the big part as the Zaugg is one of the best out there.

I skiied Superpipe at JOs last year, and it was definitly different than the little shit we hit in Fernie the year before. If you dont believe me, ask pussyfooter.

a mountain can call anything a superpipe, as well as a person, and since theres no definition for pipe or superpipe, as far as im concerned theres no difference. Some mountains say shits a superpipe and another mountain with the same size pipe will call it a pipe.

Let's look at this shall we?

Skiingsam69 - There is a difference between a Superpipe and a regular halfpipe. First, let's look at the equipment and maintenence of it. For a superpipe, you certainly have to have dirt work completed before it can go in. If you're from Jackson, this is a must. You may get alot of snow there, but not enough to have a superpipe until the end of February if it's made soley out of snow. The dirt work itself has differences. As KLD said, about an 8 foot difference. A regularly maintained halfpipe has around 8-10 foot walls. It's a well known fact. A superpipe is anything above that. Say, the Big Mtn Superpipe is expected to have 17 foot walls. A SuperDuper Pipe has 22 foot walls. There is a difference. Anybody who's ever riden both types would know this. Please shut the fuck up.

Secondly, the other difference is the equipment used to make the superpipe. A regular pipe dragon is used for a regular halfpipe. It's got a special cutter on the front to make the walls. It is one peice. So a regular dragon has a big enough grooming uh, let's just call it the cutter. The cutter on a normal pipe dragon can cut up to about 10-12 foot wall. For a superpipe, most of the dragons have an extention on them, so they can build bigger walls. Many resorts can't afford a brand new dragon that has a one piece cutter to cut 17+ foot walls, so they buy a piece to make it easier. If your mountain is buying a brand new dragon, chances are it's built to make superpipes. There is a difference there.

Lastly, the operator does come into play. There's a solid answer for what you're talking about. If your pipe operator has no idea what they're doing, your pipe will suck. There is a certain skill to building a good pipe. There you go, your question is answered.

Oh, I forgot to say this too. When you were telling people they were stupid because they didn't know where you lived, the setup or any of that, you have no right to do so. You didn't provide that information when asking the question, so if they're misinformed or answering something that is of no relation, that's your fault.

But yeah, you did present a question and then you told people that they sucked as soon as they answered, maybe you should be grateful for other people taking their time to help you out in the first place. And as far as grammar and punctuation goes, you simply cannot have a compelling argument with all the grammatical errors you had in nearly everything you said, it's just not possible. Maybe next time somebody gives you an unsatisfactory answer a simple "thank you for your time" would go a lot further than chewing them out and making yourself look like an ass.

In response to your post im going to say that you do make valid reasons, but i dont agree with you at all in the sense of the use of deragatory use. I feel the need to express my self how i want to, not how someone believes i should.

The true reasoing behind my post is to get people to realize that we arent here to fuckin call each other out or start bitchin about something so miniscule as a question asked or the substance of the question. the meaning behind me saying im wasting my time and your time all has to do with how we are doing this swip swap of opinions, when it could all be avoided if we all just mellowed out and focus about the topic at hand, which is about zaugg cutters. Instead people started to bitch or said one thing that pissed a person off and it just became like middle school bitch fest 2005.

So what i was trying to say was we are wasting each others time in doing what were doing, when this whole extravaganza could have been easily avoided.

If you read up where I stated the distinctions between types of halfpipes you'd see where I did contribute. I'm done arguing. You guys are tools.
 
well you make it sound like neither skiingsam or i have ever skied a halfpipe, ya we fuckin know that jacksons pipe has a base of dirt, we fuckin live there. And ya we know that a superpipe is officially walls with 17 feet are higher, but the one thing you are wrong on my freind, is we have a cutter with one solid cutting piece, we dont have that so called attachment you are talking about. our pipe is 17 feet and its a superpipe and we use a pipe cutter to cut it and it doenst have an extension.

So what im basically getting at is that your first post, you tried to make every thing sound so complicated and that its a delicate fuckin science that goes into making a pipe. Basically everything you said was common sense that you basically powdered up to sound like you know what ur talking about.

So back to my first paragrahp, the reason skiingsam and i dont distinquish between super pipe and half pipe by your classifaction, is because our pipe is unique and i imagine other pipes are all made a little differently too. so we dont take the time to try and get the classifacation right because why the hell would you?

you ski in a half-pipe and thas all i know, i dont give a shit how its built or what tools go into building it or what fuckin classifacation it falls under.

well i understand how you could assume that, but thas just how skiingsam and i are. we dont go around trying to act like we know whats up, because we just like to ski. sure there are times when will disagree on certain aspects of skiing, like a trick just pulled in a video or what skis that guy has or just stupid shit, but we dont try and push our knowledge onto others with like a i know alot about skiing and um if you dont im gonna tell you kind of attitude.

Zaugg Pipe cutters are the professional's choice. You'll have a killer pipe if your operator is any good. Theres and answer. You and I may be able to settle our qualms, but Skiingsam69 is done in my book. He stepped way over the line in a PM. I have no problem with you. This issue is considered dropped by me.
 
well there we go, we got an answer to the question the post asked, no as far as im concerned a lot of shit could have been avoided, not just by you or me or whatever, but by everyone who replied on here, because i dont believe any one really genuinly did what the post asked.

big sky already has one, and they are what all th big resorts use so pretty good.
