Yurt owner owes me money

So we went on a yurt trip a couple of months ago. Venmo'd the guy the money in advance, which included a mandatory guiding fee since it was our first time there (pretty common). When we met with the guide at the trailhead, he asked if we felt we could go up on our own, to which we said yes.

So afterwards I asked the guy if we could get a refund for the guiding fee, he said yes. 2 weeks later I followed up since I never received the money, he said he had a phone issue and would take care of the Venmo within the week. 3 weeks later still nothing so I followed up again and no reply. That was a week ago.

Fairly small amount of money, but still, don't really like getting stiffed.

What would you guys do?

I' lazy and bad at self advocating but it's the principal. If you have things documented where he said he'd refund the money that's pretty whack. I'd be open to some time if there was open dialogue. If he's just ducking you that's fucking shady. Do what you gotta do.

You paid a fee to have someone show you where the yurt is?

You're a fucking moron.

As explained in the OP, it's mandatory, not my choice. It's also extremely common for all yurts that are say more than 5 miles out, in my experience, whether in UT, CO, ID or MT, always the same bs mandatory guiding fee for first time renters. not that you'd know obviously.

Think it's bs and a way to make some extra $$, but it is what it is.

One more nicer follow up with him, along with a few words to the effect of you’re getting fairly annoyed at his lack of repayment. Then, burn his operation to the ground with negative reviews every single place you can think of online. I assure you that will hurt him far more than the menial amount of money he owes you.
