So i finally got my account monetized, but only a few of my videos qualify to make money on due to copyrighted songs.

anyone have good ways to find non youtube-copyrighted songs?

also what are your thoughts on it? should i be sacrificing edit quality/meaning by using a song that allows me to make money?

there a quiet a few channels on you tube that only upload non-copyrighted songs, also if you find a song you like, you can some times find a version that wont show up as copy righted but it probably will be slightly different.

It all depends how many views you are getting whether or not its worth it.

non related, but I had a song up that got blocked by UMG for copyright infringement. turned out UMG did NOT own and naver has owned the right to the song at all. I sent them an angry little reply so they threatened to delete my account then just deleted the song all together. kind of annoying since for all they know I had the rights to use the song. none of the parties involved have any say over it at all.

You could try changing the bpm of the song a fraction, so it is unnoticeable, but it may confuse youtube into not recognising it.

check out the vimeo music store, they have a lot of free songs that you can use for commercial use. Some of them are decent. Also upload a few random clips like a funny crash or something with the original audio. That can get you a ton of views and it all your own stuff
