Your top three...and why

tool: if for nothing else the artwork they use (and for anyone that likes the mars volta you should listen to tool they are similar)

hendrix: he's just really good

full service: a relatively small band that is technically from ct but plays in texas (or so i've heard). the frontman is an old teacher of mine and they are similar to 311, but have a very unique sound

David Bowie

Ben Folds

Sufjan Stevens

Because music would not be the same nor the future of music be complete without them

idk about their new album but lateralis and aenima seemed similar. either way tool is a really good band

^agreed, tool are far more experimental with time signatures and irregular meters, the mars volta experiment more with effects and sound manipulation

The Sounds

Alice in Videoland

Ming&Ping

All just amazing. Kinda funky and their stuff is really catchy and easy to listen to again and again.

Nirvana, The Beatles would be in my top bands of all time along with Mars Volta and Radiohead.

Queens of the Stone Age, Bloc Party, BIlly Talent, and Modest Mouse would be in there somewhere too along with Controller Controller.

not in any particular order

1. Symphony X. So talented in every area. Great singer, awesome guitar, and their bass is kick ass.

2. Joe Satriani. I love his stuff. It's just soooo intense with his guitar. I recommend it for anybody.

3. Led Zeppelin. Classic rock at its finest.

nas - he's just rediculous with his lyrics

senses fail - good music to get pumped for hittin that booter

immortal technique - amazing lyrics, great beats

Rise Against - inspirational lyrics coupled with melodic guitars and a hardcore punch in the bass and drums. fantastical punk rock

SOJA - reggae with a message. lots of melody and background vocs. guitars overlayed on lots of the tracks sound almost latin, but they retain the rasta-vibe sound

The Ataris - awesome variety of sound, from emo as shit, to social commentary, to party songs. earlier stuff is the epidomy of "basement show pop punk"

worrrddd. thats really a rediculous question, at least for me.

buuuuttt if i absolutley had to choose,

David Bowie: originality, unique sound

Bob dylan: no explination needed

andddddd Ryan Adams!!: he makes me ponder about things

This is so impossible but I'll take it for what it is:

1.) Miles Davis

2.) Jimi Hendrix

3.) Grateful Dead
