how many people here that dress like they are ballers or thugs or stright stez'n, can really ski with abilities to dress the way they do? Discuss alomg yourselfs.
 
Last time I checked having amazing ski abilities is not a requirement for wearing a certain type of clothings. I could be wrong though, lemme know
 
i just dress like a skier. moderatly baggy pants, siver ten4 coat, bandana (for a neck gaiter, not to be gansta), giro nine9 and a frames. im not that great but i dont suck either. i think skiers that are good can pull off a gansta look but if you suck you just look like a retard.
 
this is true, but when you ride up with a kid on a lift, and the two of you start talking and he is dressed to kill the park, and he is like oh yeah i rip this place apart all the time, blah blah bragging, then you see that kid ski and you decide it is best to ski away because you dont want to talk to ski patroll later and try to expalin how that kid did a face smash to rail
 
Fair enough, in that case I probably look a lot better than I actually am, but that's only because I get a bunch of really dope free outerwear. I'm not saying I suck in the park, I just won't be throwing switch 10's anytime soon yaaaaaaaa know
 
i am prolly dessed better than i ski but w/e i wana get alot better. i like what im wearin and if you have a problem with it i really dont care.
 
Im not very good at park yet but im a decent skier, i wouldn't say i dress thug at all but i do wear bright steez colors because i think it looks good and im going to keep trying to progress at park.

i do as many frontflips as possible on and off of chairlifts.
 
it doesnt really matter how ya dress. even if kids suck and they got a sweet ghetto setup it at least gives em a little cred. almost everyone at PC dresses gangster. look at 4bi9, tanner, and millions more. just respect. its all good.
 
well, i normally wear snow pants, and i think i find enough powder to warrant that. and i usually wear a jacket, and it's normally cold enough out for a jacket to be necessary. most the time i have goggles and a bandana or ski mask, and i think i go fast enough that protection from the wind is needed. i also wear gloves, and as my hands occasionally come into contact with cold stuff or sharp edges i feel these are also justified.

does that satisfy your ability to dress criteria?? because i don't want to overstep any boundaries here.
 
i wear bright coats, tight jeans,and i fuck around alot. the only time i pull out impressive tricks is when someone calls me out. other than that, i just have fun and fuck aorund
 
dumbest thread i've ever seen. Who gives a shit what you wear compared to how good you are? so if your not good in the park you HAVE to wear a gaper ten sizes too small? and as you progress your clothes should get larger and brighter too?  is that what your sayin? you have to earn the right to wear certain things...ridic
 
i look good i guess but my stuff was relatively cheap so im not like shellin out major scrill just to look good.

and yes i can ski pree good for my 2nd year in the park
 
Honestly tho, thank god for those people, the companies they support by buying that stuff take that profit and make cool shit for the rest of us.

And by rest of us, I exclude myself, as my best trick on skis is eating shit.
 
i wear some bonfire pants with a stud belt and some old northface coat thats pretty baggy. and a helmet and oakley's

my hellbents are the only thing touching the snow so... doesn't really matter

im not sure waht you mean because i see people with baggy 3XL shit killing the park, and i also see kids wearing skin tight emo pants and a sweater and scarf killing the park. so basically if you wear anything you can kill the park

i think i dress about to the ability i ski. pretty baggy pants, moderate sized jacket, giro helmet, spy goggles, skis, poles. idk i'm not the best but i think im pretty decent.
 
i have pretty baggy stuff. but im not that great. i can throw 5, 7s, and sometimes a nine. but im not gonna go out and throw a switch bio 10
 
I like to dress with style outside of skiing, so why change that on the hill? Look good, feel good, ski good. That's my theory.
 
doesn't really matter to me. yea its funny to go, "omg steve stepp!!!" everytime you see that ronin outfit, but i think its super sick to see someone in like average clothes, ski by and just kill it.  i am not super loud and don't dress super baggy, but like i said, your skiing should do the do talking.   
 
that is the most retarted thing i have ever heard...so ur saying in order to wear sick clothes that you like you have to be good enough?...i happen to wear oakley pants and jacket from last year and yes they are kinda bright they are the harvest gold color but i got a great deal and i love them...i also am def not the best one out there but im not terrible i can hold my own in the park and ski better than most people i come across on the mountain...bottom like shut up you noob and quit worrying about what other people wear.
 
who are u to say if someone needs to have a higher level of skill to dress a certain way. especially if they worked hard for what they have and paid for it all themselves. i mean i dont dress like a thug really, but i have pretty decent equipment and not a very high level of skill, but i worked hard for what i have, i put all the money i worked for this summer into my skiing, so fuck you if u dont think i deserve my shit.
 
ok let me inform u. heres a great example. there is a really rich kid at my school k hes realllllyyyyy loaded (i live in whistler) and his parents buy him anything he wants like his $600 holdem snowpants. problem is he cant ride for shit like he cant even 3 or slide a rail but he looks good right. so what are u going to think of him when u see him up the mountain he looks like a total poser. so in my opinion u should have to earn your gear or else people are going to look at u and say what a little rich shit
 
You mentioned bragging, something you didnt do in your inital post. If a kid is all styled out in his gear and talks shit and then totally blows its gay. But if he has that shit and doesnt brag i see no problem and go "wow that kids lucky". see what i mean?
 
So I don't really see how that kid should bother you. So what if he gets tons of nice gear? Mabey you should try to talk to him, he could be a nice kid who just has nice stuff. I don't understand your whole " u should have to earn your gear" mentality. Mabey instead of calling him out and saying he's a poser, you should give him encouragement and help him out with his skiing.
 
Heh, i probably wear more rediculus outerwear than i should. I'm not that great, but i like cool clothing so i bought some. I mean, i'm not terrible but i'm not good either. So i don't think it really matters, just wear what you want.

Well I just think if I see someone in a full suit that costs 500 dollars, someone with this year’s newest skis and boots, and 100+ dollar goggles I expect them to be good because they are willing to spend that kind of money on a sport (unless there sponsored then they are def good). This makes me think that skiing isnt just a hobby for them. But you don’t have to be pro to wear nice clothing, people just want to look nice, and that’s def fine, but people will always assume you are good if you have sick clothing, at least that’s how I view it.
 
i suck and i have oakley ozone. im the one they mistook for simon dumont at sunday river. w/e i had the change to spare and why not if the costs are all similar?

WHO FUCKING CARES WHAT PEOPLE WEAR..whether people can ski well or not, people ski to have fun.

Why can't it simply be that way without having to 'compete' with others in the park, get stared at by 'crews', hated on by pindick motherfuckers because they can throw a 7 and you are still learning 3's..?

People shouldn't be judged by what they wear, just because they are more fortunate than others or because they choose to spend more money than others on equipment, or because they want to simply look good on the mountain.

As Steven said, kids spending copious amounts of money on outerwear each year help this tiny market of ours thrive and stay alive.

People need to start worrying about themselves..not other people.

If anything people should recieve props on having a mad outfit, instead of copping shit because they "Can't ski at a comparable level as their fucking outerwear"

Fuck that.

People need to grow the fuck up.
